Rating: Summary: Great Book, A much needed book! Review: A very good book in dealing with the thought that every person who has a loved one at home can follow the recomended care given in this book to keep their loved ones at home and take care of them at home rather than at a facillity. The author is very knoledgable and profesional. Great job.My hats off to the author.
Rating: Summary: The only book of its kind! Review: Here's the practical knowledge you need to successfully face the challenges and rewards of caring for those you love. Every aspect of home healthcare, from the smallest detail of laundry management to how to choose a home care agency, is covered in a simple, straightforward way. Look what they're saying about Keeping Them Healthy, Keeping THem Home: "Over the past three years we have been asked to read and review in print over 100 new books. In our opinion, this book is the caregiving handbook for the balance of the 90s and for years to come. Keeping Them Healthy... is the most essential book on caregiving that you could own.", Victoria Koweleski, Publisher, Caregiving Monthly
Rating: Summary: The best I've read Review: I have to care for my Mom who lives nearby. This book helps me figure out what to do and when. Thanks Ms. Caruso, for caring so much!
Rating: Summary: The only book to buy! Review: This book helped me learn everything that I needed to know. From handwashing to community resources to emergency care. This is the only book you will need. I sent a copy to my brother and sister so that they can help even though they don't live nearby.
Rating: Summary: The WORST of home care reference materials Review: This was BY FAR the worst of the four home care references I used. I have never seen a book--reference or otherwise--which was more useless than this. Highly recommended: The AMA Guide to Home Caregiving (paperback) and (ESPECIALLY) The Complete Bedside Companion. I even recommended to our library that they trash "Keeping them Healthy..." and replace it with an additional copy of either of these. I've never done that before in my life. Just another indicator of how negatively impressed I was with this book.
Rating: Summary: Like having your own nurse whenever you need her! Review: Whether you are providing care hands on or trying to arrange for care from a distance, this book will tell you what you need to know (as well as quite a few things that you never even thought of but are so important)! If you have ever purchased a book to teach you how to manage the care of your infant or young child, you will find comfort in this same style book that helps you care for your aging or ill family members. It will answer all of those middle of the night questions!
