Summary: Sharing stories from your life is a gift.
Review: Hello, As the artist and author of "Grandmother" it has been a real pleasure for me to hear how this book has touched other lives. Sharing little stories from your life with your loved ones, is a valuable, irreplacable gift. I especially realize this since my own Mother suffers from Alzheimers Disease and those little stories now are lost forever. So I encourage you to capture those moments now, while you can...for they are precious.

Summary: Very pretty but ....
Review: I agree with the reviewer who thought that this was not a book for any but the most conventional family. The questions about the "County Fair", kite-flying etc are very culture-bound, and it is all a little folksy and old-fashioned for the educated, energetic baby-boomer grannies of today! For example, there are questions about school (what was your favourite subject, influential teachers etc) but no suggestion that Grandma might have gone to University, or graduate school, had a career or travelled ... altogether a nice idea and a pretty book, which I'm having great difficulty filling in for my Grandson!

Summary: not for everyone
Review: This book is a bit sappy for my taste. I could not find one in a local bookstore to preview, so I ordered it without knowing what the inside was like. My main problem with it is that many of the questions are a little too specific, such as "did you ever enter anything in a county fair" or "did you ever fly a kite, if so, who made the kite". It's just not a book that fits with my family very well. I also ordered "Grandfather Remembers" by Judith Levy, which is absolutely wonderful - detailed, but not specific. It has more of a fun approach rather than a sappy/sentimental approach. I will be ordering "Grandmother Remembers" also by Judith Levy, hoping that it is similar. It doesn't, however, have as nice a front cover as "Grandmother: A Record Book of Memories."

Summary: not for everyone
Review: This book is really pretty cute and appropriate for those who celebrate Christian holidays. There are questions regarding Easter and Christmas memories as well as church worship so I will not be giving one to my Jewish mother-in-law.

Also, be aware that there are questions about the grandfather. So if there's been a divorce in the family and grandma would not be keen on recounting the grandpa stories, one might want to pass on this item as well.

The questions are pretty insightful - winter memories, first kite flying experience, etc. Overall, a really nice item if your family fits the profile.

Summary: Great way of Grandmother/Grandchild sharing.
Review: This book is the best book of this type that I've read. The illustrations are awonderful addition for Grandmother/grandchild sharing. This book is perfect way of passing on forgotten traditions and memories of a totally different generation. The questions are interesting to read and fun to answer. I was given mine on Mother's Day and now filling it out for my 1st Grandchild. Several Grandmother's I work with, have fallen in love with my copy and are now getting one for themselves.

Summary: A blessing for grandmother, grandchild & everyone inbetween.
Review: This book tends to appear in the stores around Mother's Day. Last year I noticed it but thought I'd get it next trip. It was GONE the next trip. This year I got it! Don't hesitate! Buy this book! Take your time and write in your memories. What a blessing this book has been. Kyle, my grandson, is only 1 year old, but his mom sure has enjoyed reading my answers to these memory-provoking questions. Wonderful format, attractive, timeless book.

Summary: A FUN BOOK TO OWN AND SHARE. EVERYONE WHO SEES IT WANTS ONE
Review: tHIS MEMORY BOOK IS A GREAT IDEA, I WISH I HAD STARTED IT SOONER. IT'S USER FRIENDLY, AND EASY TO DO. I AM NOT PARTICULARLY CAPABLE AT WRITING, BUT THE QUESTIONS ASKED ARE EASY ENOUGH TO VISUALIZE WHAT YOU WOULD SAY.
