Review: When I first saw read about this book I was intrigued, mainly because of the age difference. It is a great book. I love the way the whole thing came about between Lee and Chris. Lee's son is killed and Chris is his best friend who happened to share a place with Greg. He decides he should be the one to tell Lee about Greg himself. It all takes off from there. Lee's daughter likes Chris herself and Lee is worried at first about what her daughter and the rest of her family might think, but that doesnt stop her from getting involved with Chris. This is truly one of the best of her books that I've read. I reccomend it to anyone.

Summary: A Wonderful Experience!
Review: When I found this website I was ecstatic! Morning Glory was great and I read it five times. But this one! I actually happened across the movie first and was completely captivated by the storyline, so of course I had to read the book. And when I did I fell in love - with Lee, Lloyd, Anoka and especially Christopher. WHERE can I find a real Christopher Lallek??? His quiet gentleness and sense of honor reaffirms all the old values that are harder and harder to find today. Lee is admirable in her determination to transcend the many tragedies life has brought her. And their growing relationship is powerful to witness. This story and its people have turned my life around by teaching me that there is always hope and that it's never too late to find a true hero - even in today's world. I would be most interested in any information about Ms. Spencer and how to write to her, and availability of the movie. And right now I'm going to read Family Blessings again.

Review: When I started to read this book, I didn't think I would like it because of the age thing (and yes, I would have a problem if it were a 45 year old man and a 30 year old woman). But once I started reading and getting to know the characters, that issue became mute. Both Lee and Christopher handled their grief incredibly well, and the friendship they developed before love should be an example to us all. Also, the relationship that Christopher developed with Joey - you couldn't find a better father-figure whether he was 30 or 50. This will be one of my favorite books for life.

Summary: Soppy sophomoric pap written for teens but pawned on adults
Review: Written to the level that dreamy eyed 8th graders may find titillating. The story line is completely predictable. Each scene is repetitive in its descriptions of characters and their actions. Anyone who has never watched a single TV soap opera episode will be enthralled. Maybe her next novel will star Dick and Jane and Baby Sally! I gave it 2 stars because the author was able to get it published! And, because there were some 50-cent words thrown in to make it look intelligent!
