Rating: Summary: Straight from the heart and soul Review: "I'm Gonna Tell" is not a "why does abuse happen, what forms does it take, and how is it best dealt with" book. Instead, it's raw experience, straight from the heart and soul of a remarkable woman. Lori Cardille is no "victim"; she is a strong human being who tells her own story with pain, perspective, and even humor. This is "must reading" for anyone who has ever been abused... anyone who loves someone who has been abused... or anyone who simply wants to learn a little more about human nature-- the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Rating: Summary: A raw honest explusion of personal demons. Review: To see Lori talking about Day of the Dead on the new DVD set (2003) you would have no idea any of this tragedy had befallen her. Someone implore Lori to write an autobiography or screenplay as her story (although not unique in its origins) has spun into a complex, manifold tale of importance that other creative / destructive souls can relate to. I hope we hear from you again, Lori, because the now and the future are equally as important as the past.
Rating: Summary: More than enough Review: With courage and honor...poignant humor...wit and intelligence...and her own brand of spiritual honesty, Lori Cardille traces and faces a past too horrifying to remember until she was in her thirties. You can tell from the cover photo that this author and her story will both delight and challenge you. This book should be read by all survivors of sexual abuse and by their loved ones who are struggling to help them grow. I laughed, I cried, I cheered, I leered. Lori, we're glad you told. "I'm Gonna Tell" is more than enough.
