Rating: Summary: An absoluteley excellent book Review: Just pick up the book, read any chapter, and it becomes clearly evident the author has been there, done that. The book is very clearly written, well organized, and very useful. Covers most subjects in sufficient detail as to not require much in the way of other references. My only criticism is that I would have liked a little more detail in the PID control section - but one could supplant that info with other references.
Rating: Summary: An engineer's review Review: The book was very useful. The only drawback was the "Hydronics Design Kit" was not included. This costs an additional $76 from Oikos.com and is referred to many times in the book. Therefore, it is almost a requirement during use of the book.

Rating: Summary: One of my favorites. Review: This book is a joy to read. If you want to know the hows, whys and technical theory of hydronic heating, this is all you need. It's 100% good scoop and common sense. There are lots of graphs, diagrams, formulae and explanation without any fluff. I'm a retired engineer with 100's of books on my shelf, most of them only partially read. I've read this one twice and would like to shake Mr. Siegenthaler's hand someday and tell him job well done.
Rating: Summary: Best Resource Available Review: This book is THE resource for any homeowner planning to install radiant floor heat. It is written as a textbook for HVAC students, but it serves equally well as a reference and informative design resource for the average homeowner. John Siegenthaler is recognized by his peers as one of the outstanding radiant heating engineers. I highly recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: Excellent informative source for hydronic floor heating Review: This book was an excellent source of information on hydronic floor heating. It was easy to read, had complete information and was very helpful in the planning stages of our construction project.
Rating: Summary: good stuff Review: this is an excellent book. i have an engineering background, and this book has the level of detail and scientific rigor i find useful. i am using it to design my own system.

Rating: Summary: Great textbook with engineering approach to Hydronic Design Review: This textbook is the kind you might want to use for a college course on Hydronic Heating Design. It mentions a software program (not included) that must have been used in conjuction with the creatation of this text. Great explainations and examples along with exercises at the end of each chapter. Well worth the price.
Rating: Summary: A joy to read and learn from Review: Well written and thought out, following a logical procession through the various components and systems. A bare minimum of errors in the text. This book should be valuable in preparation for PE licensure. I wish all texts were written like this.
