Rating: Summary: This book is excruciatingly effective! Review: I am a graduate student at Harvard University, and last year I undertook a research project on the effects of written(as opposed to spoken and aural) teaching methods of English as a Second Language. I found Ms. Bland's textbook to be one of the primary examples of a well-written, cohesive, effective textbook. I don't really know how one goes about reviewing a textbook, so please do not consider this to be so much a subjective analysis as a large thank-you to Ms. Bland and as a call to all teachers and students of English looking for a fabulous text upon which to base study.
