Rating: Summary: Worthy to be made into a movie! Review: A fine biographic literary of perhaps the most influential man that ever graced this earth. The momentum hardly flags and spuns the reader to read on- a great story told in an innovative novel-like fashion. Will appeal massively to many newcomers and to those who prefers a simple yet accurate biopic of the prophet all muslims loved dearly. Since The Message (starring Anthony McQueen) is decades-old, I would strongly recommend to film-makers to prop up and read this book and construct an epic motion picture of Muhammad. This book is an ideal companion to their film-efforts. Comments, anyone?
Rating: Summary: Very Informative Book Review: I bought this book randomly without knowing that it would turn out to be so good and I feel sorry that not many people know about it although it is as good as the one by Martin Lings. As the other reviewer has said, it actually feels like you are living in Arabia during the time of the Prophet as you read his story. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to know about the life of the prophet Mohammed (pbuh) and who doesn't want to get bored of the regular prose of other history books.
Rating: Summary: Captivating!!! Review: I would definitely recommend this work to all with an interest or curiosity of the beginnings of Al-Islam. I strongly agree with E.C. Luhurbudi's review of this book because I, myself, could not find the brakes to stop once I started reading it. The author does a fantastic job from start to finish as he gives an account of the life of the Holy Prophet (SAWS) and his lineage. There were many things that I learned and that I never knew about. This lead to a greater appreciation of what Islam is about, the trials and tribulations of Muhammad (SAWS) and, the overall significance of the holy month of Ramadan and also Eid Al-Ahda to name a few. To make a long story short (too late), this book is awesome.
Rating: Summary: A must read for both Muslims and non-Muslims Review: This book is at the same level as Haekal's seminal work on Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
My wife and I found it very easy to read and very inspiring.
I almost cried when I read the book descriptions on the ordeals that the Prophet went through leading to the Hijrah.
For Muslims, this book is full of info on not commonly known aspects of the Prophet life.
For non-Muslims, because of his unique background, the author wrote lengthly and clear explanations on many issues sometimes not clearly explained in other books.
Definitely a must read for everyone!
Rating: Summary: Get acquainted with people who use intellect. Review: This book is great, when you read this book you feel proud to be a human-being who got acquainted with people who use intellect. So you feel happy, secure, safe and protected. You no more feel that you are left alone, you feel you get connected to the intellect. You feel that you are living the life through with the Messenger of the God. Everyone who use intellect should read this book. To believe or not depends on the permission of the God.
Rating: Summary: Gripping!!! Review: This book is very gripping!!! I enjoyed it a lot. It feels like you are right there. It is a book you don't want to put down once you've started. I've read Karen Armstrong's version and it seems very slow, and she makes the Prophet (mpbh) seem like a womanizer and a money hungry man. Emerick catches the essence of the Prophet's (mpbh) time and makes it seem like he actually knew him. This is definately a must read! It is a very good book to have in one's collection and especially if you want the correct story about the Prophet's (mpbh) life and how Islam came to be!
Rating: Summary: Excellent biography! Review: This book was so easy to read! As a new Muslim, I have read much about Islam, which in turn told me some about Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), but I wanted to learn more about his life. I was a bit apprehensive about picking up a biography, as I am not a big history fan since I find most historical-type books very dry and boring. This book is neither! I couldn't put it down. Yahiya Emerick does a wonderful job in writing this book. As another reviewer said, you feel as if you are there during the time period the book is speaking about. It is true! It allows the reader to put him/herself back into ancient Arabia. And although I knew what was to come with the ending of the book, I found myself weeping as I was reading about the passing of our wonderful Prophet. This book really makes me feel as if I knew Muhammad (pbuh).
Rating: Summary: A very detailed and gripping read Review: What a great bio! I've read Karen Armstrong and Martin Lings and this one beats both hands down. The author makes you feel as you're right there, seeing all the action. Lings bogs you down with way too much detail and Armstrong's writing is dry. This one is definately the best bio of this often misunderstood figure.
