Summary: agreed- the old is better
Review: ... (If you are going to buy one, get the older edition.) The older edition had larger print size in a darker font. The paper in the previous edition was better too and didn't bleed through. I don't like to see shadows from the other side of the paper- it distracts. "Modern" is not always better, and is sometimes just cheaper quality. I saw this edition in a store and was thankful that I didn't buy it.As far as the content, the NKJV is still superb. Some of the articles seem bizarre, and, as a previous reader noted, inappropriate for the limited space in a study Bible. I'm glad that Jack Hayford is still the editor. The Spirit Filled Bible is still a great Bible! Maybe the next edition will revert to a superior product with all the old features. Maybe more articles on discipleship and church dynamics. (And, as long as we are making changes, go to a paragraph structure, like real English; there is nothing spiritual or functional about "verse format.")

There were a couple of new things in this one that were attractive, but I also agree that the loss of the old articles more than outweighed the additions. Amazon still sells the older edition too---go for that one! But if you can't get the older one, then this is the next best thing.

Review: I cannot put the Bible down. I owned the first version and, yes the print was larger in the old version, which I can use as I get older. This Bible has practically everything you need in it from maps, Strong's Concordance, Greek/Hebrew translation of words, and word study. The awesome part is in the article series in the back of the Bible which talks about the problems w/in today's church, Healing of Our Nations (called to a reconciliation ministry to all nations), restoration, Messianic Believers, spiritual gifts, and how to bring another to Christ. As a Jewish believer, the relevancy in today's world with the Middle East, Judiasm, Israel, and the prophetic word from the O.T. is right on target. It is an awesome Bible!

Summary: Growing in the Word
Review: I once was told that as you grow in the Lord, your equipment (Bible) should progress along with you. I have owned a Spirit Filled Life Bible since 1995. I have purchased other Bibles to compliment my learning experience with the Spirit Filled Life Bible. Over the years I have enjoyed this Bible so much ... I can't begin to tell you how it has helped me in my walk with the Lord. This Bible offers a vast array of biblical studies Proved through the Word. The Kingdom Dynamics are greatly enlightening. To understand that not just one person contributed to the putting together of these studies is nice to know that you won't just get one person's views, but the views of many. I have conducted many bible studies based upon the studies in this Bible alone and the feedback from the students has been nothing but rave reviews. I have just recently ordered another Spirit Filled Life Bible - newer version, more studies - "Who buys new cadillacs? People who own old cadillacs!"

Summary: The best Bible I own!
Review: I've had many Bibles, but this one is the best I've found. I've even had a Greek-Hebrew study Bible, but none were as comprehensive and informative as this one. The Word Power sections make the original scriptual meanings clearer. The Truth-in-Action section at the end of each book show how the scriptures apply to our daily life. I got this Bible from Benny Hinn Ministries. It was a special edition,with my name engraved on it. However this one is the same, except it isn't engraved, and it isn't as expensive...
