Summary: response to Wow-What A Shame
Review: I find this book to be very touching. I make my own choices. I am quite optimistic and very touched by what Mr. Warren has written. I take what I want from his book and leave the rest. Marketing is everywhere. I take what I want from marketing and leave the rest. I am optimistic and have a life, thanks to God and Mr. Warren. Thank you God for teaching me that I do have choices.

Summary: Power Tool for Today's People.
Review: I use this and similar tools, not because my life is so jam packed, or my agenda so full - though both are true - but because they work. Jesus Christ's vast memorization of holy texts goes without saying, as do biblical (and other) accounts of the disciples' studiousness. Is God therefore insulted by this tool's use, or economy? Not at all. Whether I and my family use this tool or, for example, Libronix DLS, Ethereal Library, Blue Letter, freely provided church materials, or our own pen and paper - what matter? Our objective stands. Economy versus DIY is moot and personal-choice, whether in a spiritually free or oppressed country.

Summary: Wow, What a Shame
Review: Isn't it sad that God gave each person a mind and yet some are so blind to reality that they simply can't accept the fact that the Purpose-Drivel © Corporation is more intent on making money with merchandise with paraphrased quotes, many of which are taken OUT OF CONTEXT, than with spreading the real Word of God. We should pray for those who are so blind.

Summary: Wow... God is the only one to judge others.
Review: It baffles me that one would Judge Rick Warren and what he is doing. From my standpoint he is just trying to share the Word with the World. No one is in any place to judge anyone and it's astounding that people that claim to be "Christian's" are doing such things. If you really are Christian, and really know what your Faith stands for, then you should not be Judging other people. However, I will pray for you. It's a shame that you haven't found the light.

Summary: FYI, Angry Fundies...
Review: Rick Warren does not receive a dime of royalties from the Purpose Driven products. So, get your facts straight before defaulting to ad hominem plastering of him. Such personal judgments sound like the kind of thing that should come from God alone.

I, for one, think it's a great idea to publish the scriptures on cards. It's an attractive and practical way to help get the Word infused in your life.

Summary: Who are we to judge Rick Warren or anyone for that matter?
Review: We are called to spread God's word and not to judge how others choose to do so.If Rick Warren saved only one soul with his book, it would be worth it. His book hasn't become a best seller just by chance. Our world is in a sad state and people are grasping for something to hold onto. What better thing to grab ahold of than our faith in the creator. Christians need to stand firm in their beliefs. I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would try to tear apart a person that is trying to reach out and save souls.

Summary: Capitalizing on God - What a CRIME
Review: What a disgusting JOKE! Rick Warren isn't a man of God - he's a man with a large bank account! What next - Purpose-Driven Toothpaste? Purpose-Driven Hemmorhoid Medication? How about Purpose-Driven Burgers? When is it going to stop?!?!? How many books did Jesus write? Did He brag about having a HUGE church? Why didn't Jesus have "Scripture Keeper Plus With Cards?" Enough is enough - how about living a life like Jesus, Rick Warren? Give up EVERYTHING. Work with the ill, infirm, sick, dying - EVERYDAY?! Did Jesus need Peter Drucker to market his Word? Oh well...this is just yet another item to help boost your bank account. (Did Jesus need one of those?)

Summary: Wow, What a Shame
Review: When I was a little girl attending Sunday school, my teacher would tuck a small handout in our hands each week as we left the classroom. This little half-sheet was illustrated on one side with a scripture and verse on the other. My mother and father would take turns reading it and talk about what it meant in our daily lives. This little scripture keeper is an adult version of that same spiritual memo. Some people keep candy jars or little toys on their desk for diversion when they get 'stressed out.' These are more humbling, and better for your waistline and teeth! As for any criticism that this is some kind of blasphemic marketing, I would have to offer sadly that at no time have people reached out more desperately for a way to weave their spiritual well-being back into their daily lives within this modern, technology-rich, multi-cultured, politically-correct era. I for one am happy to see tools offered to help accomplish this.
