Rating: Summary: Greatest translations in the World! Review: Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ,I have always loved the KJV Bible, but my first time seeing or hearing the Amplified translation was from Dr. Creflo A. Dollar, Joyce Meyer and Prophetess Juanita Bynum. That made me want to see it and then I saw it online at biblegateway.net Now I have it next to the KJV. That is the only way I would have gotten it because the KJV will forever be the best translation, but now I know that Jesus is telling me that the Amplified Bible and the KJV Bible are equally the best translations on the planet Earth. I read and study them both daily. I have other translations as one should study as many translations as they can get, but these two will stand the test of time. I am a New Minister under a Pastor here in Toledo, Ohio. I just got my licsence to be a Minister under this Pastor and I gave my first sermon on the third sunday of November here in 2002. I used the amplified bible and the king james version bible in that sermon. I thank the Lord for these two translations because they helped me and continue to help me. May Christ bless us all!
Rating: Summary: One of the best! Review: I have had my bible for two years. I have found it to be one of the best, if not the best, translations of the Bible. The convenience of having the KJV and the Amplified together is great. This is a must for those who like the richness of the KJV but also desire to have the original text meanings included in the Amplified. I say this is a must have!
Rating: Summary: Everyone Needs the Amplified Bible Review: I never knew scriptures as well as I do now that I get the true meaning of the Greek and Hebrew text versions explained to their fullest extent. Why isn't everyone reading this? NIV, NASB, nothing comes as close and adds the "truth" to the scriptures.
Rating: Summary: very difficult to read Review: It's a pretty good idea to have the king james and amplified versin side by side. However, this bible is hard to read because the text size is very small. The print is also very light. It's almost as if the bible was printed in pencil instead of ink because it is so light. I have a bilingual bible which is spanish and english version side by side and the size is readable and the text is much more bolder. if you buy this bible you better have extremely good eyes and read it in good lighting. The amplified bible has a lot of amplification (lots of words put in text), which is sometimes very good in understanding the meaning of scriptures, but sometimes so much extra words are added that instead of clearing up the scripture, it makes it harder and more confusing to read. Much of the words used to amplify the scripture are very sophisticated and difficult words so that instead of making the scripture easier to understand, it just makes the scripture harder to understand. Also, many times the amplification disturbs the flow of reading. Hence this bible has two hard versions to read. (king james version is hard to read. amplified is supposed to be easier but it isn't) I recomend getting a NKJV bible (new king james bible). It's close to the king james version but it is a lot easier to read.

Rating: Summary: A great study Bible Review: the amplified allows your SPIRT MAN along with the King James Version to explorer the word of GOD DEEPER...AGREAT STUDY BIBLE.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Tool for understanding the Word of God! Review: The amplified is an absolute must have for gaining a deeper understanding of the Word of God. The only thing is, the Amplified's words are not always in the Strongs Concordance. Of course the King James versions words are. So the KJV coupled with the Amplified is great for really studying the Bible. There is also two small concordances for each version. I love this bible!

Rating: Summary: A good reference Review: This bible is good for comparison between the Amplified and the KJV.
Rating: Summary: No words of Christ in red & cheap binding... Review: This bonded-leather parallel KJV-NIV Bible disappoints this reader by not showing Christ's words in red print. My parallel KJV-Amplified Bible does indeed have Christ's words highlighted in red type and is from the very same publisher! I naturally assumed that this KJV-NIV version would do likewise. On a more positive note, the large print is _easy_ on the eyes and the burgundy bonded-leather flexible cover is quite attractive. However, I'm returning this Bible and hope to eventually find a parallel KJV-NIV with the red letter feature.
Just another observation: It is sad that this and almost all Bibles (and most other books) published today no longer have _sewn bindings_ but mere glued-in pages. This makes the books relatively fragile (open it too wide or use it too much and the spine cracks) and greatly shortens their useful life. Some very expensive tomes are bound in this manner (ironically referred to as 'perfect binding' in the book industry).
