Rating: Summary: Revelation Unveiled Review: I enjoyed reading the Left Behind series and this seemed like the natural next step. Excellent way to gain more understanding of Revelations without the story line.
Rating: Summary: learned author, mediocre writer Review: I found his writing unnecessarily difficult to follow. The book is full of knowledge and opinions, which are hard to differentiate. I suppose my expectations were too high. I had hoped for a clear sequential analysis of prophesies. This is written like a legal brief.
Rating: Summary: Interesting Review: I found many prfound insights with Mr. Lahaye's book. The only thing that detracted from it was his anti-Roman Catholic agenda.
Rating: Summary: excellent view Review: I found this an excellent book on a very difficult subject. Some have criticised it on academic grounds but is not written as such. I do believe it is a reasonable isogesis as most interpretations of prophesy are in my opinion. This book is easy to read and stimulates the reader to further study.
Rating: Summary: Boring and Brash Review: I found Tim LaHaye's Revelation Unvieled to be downright boring, if not insulting. I have taken another class on the book of Revelation when I was younger and a new Christian. While I believe that the book of Revelation to be prophecy, I find that I do not agree with all of Mr. LaHaye's views. He seemed to me to be picking on Catholics in the portion of his book that I read. I was so bored with his work, and quite sick and tired of his insulting Catholics between the lines. Apparently, in his efforts to push his extremely conservative views, LaHaye has gone to all lengths to insult those who do not share his views. I will admit that I myself am far from perfect, but I find Mr. LaHaye's views all wrong. I myself am a Christian who attends a southern Baptist church. I don't like the world group of Christians. But I don't share Mr. LaHaye's views much else. Mr. LaHaye should look through the Bible again and direct his attention to the book of Matthew, chapter 7, as well as John 15:12.
Rating: Summary: More study for Revelation Review: I have read part of the Left Behind series and got bored with them on Book #5. I wanted to understand Revelation more, so I started with this book.
Revelation Unveiled takes you through each chapter and verse of Revelation describing what will happen. While reading this book, you need to concentrate on Tim Lahaye's understanding of each verse. You are not going to sit down and read this like a novel. The beginning of the book concerns the letters to the 7 churches. This part seemed the most confusing to me. If you get past the 7 churches, it will be easier to understand.
Overall, I found the book a good learning tool. I have gone on to other books for more study of Revelation.
Rating: Summary: Revelation Unvailed Review: I loved this book. Having attempted to read and understand Revelations, without success. This book kept me spell bound. I could not read more than four or five pages at a sitting. I would have to stop and digest what I had read. I read it twice before loaning it to a friend, then after they returned it I read it once again. I would like to see anyone who has attempted to read Revelations and understand it as I had, without success, read this book with an open mind.
Rating: Summary: Opionated Not Factual Review: I read and enjoyed all six books of the Left Behind Series, even though I detected a lot of "Catholic Bashing" from the beginning. This seems to be his whole purpose of writing "Revalation Unveiled". I was disappointed with all the inaccuracies that I now wonder how many inaccuracies are in The Left Behind series. He really let his imagination run wild with all that vestal virgin and pagan mumbo jumbo as he relates it to the Catholic Church. Come on Tim, this is the 21st Century. Catholics have bible studies and read scriptures at mass from the same bible that you read from. We worship only one God and beleive in the the second coming of Christ. We beleive that we are no better or no worse than any other true beleiver in the word of God.
Rating: Summary: Mis-informed anti-Catholic hogwash Review: I was highly disappointed after reading this book. I started out reading it with blind enthusiasm, because my wife liked the "Left Behind" series so much. The first chapter or so held my attention, then Lahaye started blasting everything the Catholic Church is based on, up to and including the Blessed Virgin Mary! Where did this guy come from? His writing represents more of an Anti-Christ sentiment than a Christian one! He is pure EVIL! The hate spues from the pages like venom. Mr. Lahaye had better pray for forgiveness, and donate all his ill gotten money to some charitable foundations to make some reparation for all the damage he is causing to the Christian beliefs. This book is NOT worth reading, even for fictional entertainment value. God forgive you Mr. Lahaye!
Rating: Summary: I'll toss it in the trash. Review: I would rate this book no stars but that is not an option. I read what Lahaye had to say about the letters to the churches and already Lahaye had bashed NATO, the World Council of Churches, the Roman Catholics, anyone who babtizes infants, anyone who baptizes by sprinkling, anything ecumenical and women. I've got better things to do than read the rest. I'm sorry I wasted my money buying this book.
