Rating: Summary: Good, but not Excellant Review: I have in my personal library (electronic) 70+ bible translations from Hebrew, Greek, Latin to English, German, French, etc. I use the 100% free downloadable E-Sword program (www.e-sword.net) that has 67 Bibles 27 English & 40 Foreign (Asian, European, African, North/South Americas, & Australia) including Greek/Hebrew MSS of Critical, Majority, and Textus Receptus; 15 Commentaries (e.g., Matthew Henry); 13 Dictionaries/Encyclopedias (e.g., Vine's); 7 Graphics (e.g., Rev. Larkin's "Dispensational Truth"); 37 Christian Classic Books (e.g., John Calvin's "Institutes of Christian Religion"; 3 Devotions (e.g., Spurgeon's "Morning & Evening"). In addition, I have used hardback Interlinear Bibles (Spiro's, Marshall's, McReynold's) as well as those on E-Sword. www.e-sword.netIn my hardback library, I have MacArthur's, Ryrie's, Open, Scofield, NASB Study Bible, Defenders, & Thomas Chain. I have found this bible the least desirable. MacArthur is the best w.r.t. most comprehensive/exhaustive commentary verse by verse and only one with the best confessional/doctrinal section in the back helps; Ryrie's is best w.r.t. it is basic comprehensive and it has the only outline of church history and systematic theology; Open Study is the best w.r.t. the introductions for each bible book are organized, yet thorough and only this one has the "Plan of salvation" in front with other help about "How to Study the Bible", "Most asked questions", etc. Thomas Chain has the best maps in the back and the most comprehensive helps you can buy: that is why it is called "The Pastor's bible"; Scofield most accurate theological notes (except for the Gap theory of Genesis 1). Rating: Summary: THEN WHAT SHALL WE DO? Luke 3:10 Review: John the Baptist Preaches
7 So he began saying to the crowds who were going out to be baptized by him, "You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
8 "Therefore bear fruits in keeping with repentance..."
9 "Indeed the axe is already laid at the root of the trees; so every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire."
10 And the crowds were questioning him, saying, "Then what shall we do?"
11 And he would answer and say to them, "The man who has two tunics is to share with him who has none; and he who has food is to do likewise."
12 And some tax collectors also came to be baptized, and they said to him, "Teacher, what shall we do?"
13 And he said to them, "Collect no more than what you have been ordered to."
14 Some soldiers were questioning him, saying, "And what about us, what shall we do?" And he said to them, "Do not take money from anyone by force, or accuse anyone falsely, and be content with your wages."
15 Now while the people were in a state of expectation and all were wondering in their hearts about John, as to whether he was the Christ,
16 John answered and said to them all, "As for me, I baptize you with water; but One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to untie the thong of His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
17 "His winnowing fork is in His hand to thoroughly clear His threshing floor, and to gather the wheat into His barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."
BEST BOOK I'VE EVER READ!!!
Red letter-hard cover-one of the best translations
It would be nice if more Americans would read, study, and apply some of these principles-better to do that than attend church every Sunday and trust in your baptismal certificates of March 17, (given when you were too little to even speak), to save you.
Let the text speak for itself. The extra commentaries, I would not bank so much on. It does have nice maps and other features.
Rating: Summary: Great NASB Bible Review: This is a great Bible. I love all the study helps...charts, graphs, etc. I also love the genuine leather cover.
