Summary: Great study God's faithfulness
Review: 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 - "Do not be deceived, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals . . . shall inherit the kingdom of God, and such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ." That's the powerful healing revealed through this excellent Bible study. You can be cleansed of anything. In a world where we spread around the pain more than the joy, this book could open your eyes to the real forgiveness and peace that is available to you through Jesus Christ.

This book will lead you through a powerful, yet light-weight, study of various important Bible passages. Formatted for your daily devotions, you should plan to spend thirty minutes or so each day to understand the material. If you're using this book in a small group (excellent idea, by the way), you may want to call Precept Ministries to request either the audio or video teaching tapes. They add another level of spiritual depth to your group's study. You may even want them for yourself.

The book doesn't leave you with some decent platitudes and wishful thinking. Kay Arthur is a woman of compassion who has endured pain and befriended the hurting. The beginning each week is almost a personal letter from her. She wants you to have the peace God promises for those "whose mind is stayed on Him." In the study, she teaches on God's character, His love for you, and your role in God's family. Then she deals with the importance of forgiveness and how to deal with anger and bitterness.

Don't let your past ruin your future. Study the Bible with this book, and be free in the truth of God's unfailing love for you.

Summary: Counceling Failed But God Did NOT
Review: I can not begin to tell you what this book and Kay Arthur have done for me.

Through the tools that Kay and this book furnished me I was driven into God's word to find healing for my pain and emotional hurts that years of counceling and medications had not been able to help me with.

By understanding that Jehovah Raph, God who heals truly does love me, I was set free from years of depression. This was my "ahaa" moment...

I am now teaching this as a class, and see so much healing coming to other lives. Don't get me wrong, there is still a need and time for counceling and sometimes medication.

But run first to the great physician and your redeemer. Learn from the Bible how to be healed.

Summary: He Healed My Hurts
Review: I found this book to be very useful in my spiritual growth. I had broken up from a past relationship with alot of hurts and bitterness in my heart that made me miserable and unable to go on in life. The Lord used Kay's book to take me on a journey of deep healing. She not only covers subjects of forgiveness and dealing with bitterness, but also subjects of personal sin, trusting God, God's love and God's sovereignty. The section on the sovereignty of God was especially healing and comforting for it brought a clarity to the events that has taken place in my life. The best part of this book is that instead of spoon-feeding you the information you need which you will promptly forget once the day is over, Kay makes you do your own homework of searching out Scripture, memorizing key verses, and writing out your heartfelt responses after some guided reflection. That made the information necessary for my healing only impact me deeper. I recommend this book for people who are hurting from past abuses, whether you are the one abused or the abuser. God is able to heal your hurts. However, if you're the abuser and are struggling with deep guilt, perhaps the book LORD, I NEED YOUR GRACE TODAY is more suited for you since it talks about overcoming past failures, a failure mentality, an inferiority complex, and deep-seated guilt. I hope this review has helped you in your decision to purchase this book. God bless you and I pray you recover soon from your hurts. God loves you.

Summary: Ok if never been in counseling
Review: I took the course and used the book. It is extremely shallow and meant for people who are new in the healing of hurts. Healing of wounds deals with the lies we have come to believe and exchanging the lies with God's word through prayer. If one does not know the truth, the book may be relevant (Scripture) but one has to also know the lies Satan has made them believe for healing to take place.

Summary: It works!
Review: This book changed my spiritual walk. It took away past hurts to where I could really believe the promises that God has in store for me. I had a hard time forgiving myself and in turn believing God's forgiveness for me. This book changed all that!

Summary: Can't even express it accurately
Review: this is a book I pray someday I can do for a Bible Study, in my opinion, one of the best out there on topics of God as our Jehova Rapha, our Healer, and that is who He is. He is not way out there but very close and real, despite the pain endured this book will bring great insight, if doing it alone have a prayer warrior, if you get in depth issues may surface and you may not know how to deal with them (a survivor, no thriver of sexual abuse). Kay Arthur is very personable, a teacher, you learn the Word and how to know God and trust Him at His Word not by how we feel or think.

A must for anyone who has pain they have never allowed the Healer to place His Balm of Gilead upon.
