Rating: Summary: Fantastic! Review: Great Bible. In it I learned that I was dead in my sins and that by faith alone in the finished work of Jesus on the cross, all my sins woud be forgiven and I would have eternal life! Can't beat that with a stick!
Rating: Summary: Simple, Clean, Useful Review: I await the Platinum edition of this Bible. I bought the Gold edition and found it simple, straitforward and easy to use. The gold edition is bonded leather however and very thin at that. The typeface is generous. If you highlight with yellow magic marker, there is bleed through to the next page but it is liveable. I chose a reference Bible after owning numerous study Bibles. Annotations found in Study Bibles are good at various stages of growth, but reference Bibles force more independant study: allowing the cross reference and concordance use to let the Bible be it's own comentary. It's harder to dig for yourself, but the manna that God's Word gives you is your own, not merely the opinion of the annotator. While many good people have annotated a number of study Bibles, sometimes the notes point you in doctrinal directions and away from discovery on your own. If you can, buy both types and glean from the annotations, then dig in using the reference Bible and let God lead you in what he wants to reveal and teach.
Rating: Summary: The KJV by Zondervan Review: I like this Holy Bible because it does not have the pagan symbols the Nelson and other publishing companys place on and in the Bible. The trinity can't be proved. The cross was a tool of death. Idols of the cross, the fish, the trinity and many other symbols are to be avoided if we are to worship the true Jesus Christ. The modern translations i.e. NIV and RSV are not the word of God! Do a comparision and you will find it so. It does matter which Bible you read. TP
Rating: Summary: About this version of the Bible - not theological debate Review: I will leave discussions about the "tool of death" to the hardware department and discuss the merits of this Bible. My wife and I knew that her mother wanted a Bible that included the NIV translation, Thompson Chain Reference, and was large enough for her to read without squinting. I was pleased to find exactly such a Bible here. My father-in-law examined her copy and let us know that he wanted one for Fathers Day. My only wish is that a choice of colored leather binding was available. I have a normal size print edition of this Bible and have found it helpful in preparing Bible studies and sermons. While not as in depth as the Oxford NRSV or Zodhiates Word Study Bible the NIV Thompson Chain Reference system is handy for finding related concepts and taking a quick survey of a topic.

Rating: Summary: Review of Review Review: In response to the review posted from Atlanta, GA on 9/18/00. The cross was not the "tool of death" for Christ. You and I were the tool of death that caused Jesus Christ to die. Our rebellion toward God caused Jesus to die. I pray that truth will be found by all who read this Bible. I am looking forward to studying God's word with this Bible.
