Summary: Interesting and Page Turning
Review: I read Life of Pi as a free-read book in social studies. When I had first heard of the book a few months back, I thought it had a lot to do with the 3.1415926535 ad infinitum Pi mathematical symbol or the letter of the Greek alphabet Pi, and nothing to do with an Indian son of a zookeeper shipwrecked at sea Pi. I brought the book along with me on a vacation, and couldn't stop reading it. Being a 13-year-old girl, I have to admit that some parts of it were rather grotesque, including parts about cannibalism, vomiting extensively, and tigers' mouths dripping with meercat blood and meat. But other than that, Life of Pi was a novel that kept me turning its pages. Some parts of it were sad, some were downright funny, and most of it was food for thought. Some people I know who had also read Life of Pi said it got too boring in the middle, but I disagree. Life of Pi is similar to The Cay, however more philisophical. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Life of Pi, and hope you do as well.
