Rating: Summary: Did the author corroborate his findings? Review: A subject I have been interested in, but I have had reservations about this author. I read and reviewed his last book, as well as this one. So I wrote to my sister, who has more experience than I in this area. Below is her response:
"I've read Michael Newton's stuff and I think it's good, though it is sort of a composite story, and probably oversimplified. I am convinced that each soul's journey is absolutely individual, though there is no doubt an order and pattern to our growth, as with all living beings. So generalizations are at most a sketchy outline. "There are guides and teachers, but they are us! We exist in many dimensions, on many levels. And the 'learning' is only about remembering who we are, which is divinity; All That Is. As you well know, it takes some preparation to live our day-to-day lives with that awareness. So we go through a 'learning process' to recognize what we already know absolutely. "Also, Spirit is infinitely creative, and so we build stories and journeys and lessons, etc. just to exercise and experience our creativity, which is how we remember who we are. To quote a favorite teacher of mine 'We are, in every now moment, a perfect, eternal expression of the Source'. There is no ultimate destination as such, nothing we have to do or become before we are 'okay'; but Spirit has to create and do in order to know itself. So we do these incredibly rich stories because we live eternally, and 'it's the only game in town'. "Anyway, I do think regression hypnosis is very valid, although my own reincarnational memories came simply through meditation and asking for guidance. The biggest hurdle is probably that we tend to dismiss those perceptions and not give them validity. "I'd be willing to bet everyone has memories they can't explain. If there are strong emotions associated with them, they are most likely personal memories. But it's all simultaneous, and lives aren't experienced in a linear progression (neither is time itself). We can meet other versions of ourselves in the same time frame (I've experienced this also). I'm also certain it is grander, more intricate and mysterious than we can begin to comprehend, which is what makes it an eternal adventure. Praise Be." So, there you have it! This is an extremely honest woman with vast personal experience that I know about. I'll not identify her, but I trust her. Joseph (Joe) Pierre

Rating: Summary: Thank you Dr. Newton! Review: Dr. Michael Newton has written 2 of my favorite books, "Journey of Souls" and "Destiny of Souls". In Destiny of Souls, you will be exposed to one of the most detailed and complete accounts of what happens after we die and return home for our rest. There are so many times while you read this book when the light bulb goes on and you just say, "wow, now it makes more sense"! This book is the real deal, I just hope that Dr. Newton will grace the world with more of his findings and research. This topic has gained so much more exposure and acceptance than ever before thanks to wonderful and believable books like this.
Rating: Summary: Memorys of Home Review: Have you ever read a book about Spirituality and it rang so true to you, you knew it was right; there was no question of faith, but knowledge? That's how it was for me reading "Destiny of Souls." I really had enjoyed "Journey of Souls," it, too had seemed more like a trip down familiar paths and "Destiny of Souls" is a continuation of the same wonderful trip that brings great peace of mind.
If you wonder: Why are we here? What is life all about? What happens to us when we die? Do love ones really try to contact us from the beyond? Well, you would do yourself a big favor by simply reading this book with an open mind and heart. Perhaps you, too, will find the solid ring of truth in the stories you follow in "Destiny of Souls." Oh, it's a very enjoyable read, too. It may make you feel like you're visiting your real Home, the Home we all came from. It gives hope, too. I did a review for our church newsletter about "Journey of Souls", and people came up to me and thanked me for introducing them to the book. They found it helpful, especially those who had lost loved ones. This book may help you heal your own grief issues. I can't say enough good things about it. THANK YOU, Dr. Newton.
Rating: Summary: Simply "WOW!" Review: I had read JOURNEY OF SOULS which left me thrilled beyond words. Then a friend of mine recommended MANY LIVES, MANY MASTERS (Weiss, MD) which confirmed a lot of things in JOUNEY OF SOULS. MANY LIVES wasn't as an easy read - but it confirmed that the Bible did mention reincarnation prior to the Roman era which was important to me. Then I read DESTINY OF SOULS!! It is more detailed than JOURNEY and wasn't as fast a read - since you wanted to concentrate on every word that was said. But the trip through this book was fantastic. Dr Newton has spent a lot of time researching what he is talking about and gives examples to back up what he is saying. I did contact him about having a regression perfomed - and he is retired now. He was kind enough to recommend someone that has been trained through him. You can locate a regression therapist via http://www.spiritualregression.org/ - if you are interested too. These books have tied up all the religions I have been exposing myself to and questioning. I have been purchasing JOURNEY OF SOULS for those I care about and recommending DESTINY OF SOULS once they have completed JOURNEY. Another I would recommend is MESSAGES FROM THE MASTERS: TAPPING INTO THE POWER OF LOVE by Brian L. Weiss, MD. These two authors are from different coasts and have different training and background - but have clients that state the SAME THING!
Rating: Summary: It Worths More than 5 Stars! Review: I read M. Newton's first book (Journey of Souls)about 5 years ago, and I couldn't wait for a follow-up.... finally, it's here! I am a "spiritual student" since the past 35 years, and I read tons of books about OBE, after-life, lucid dreaming, astral travel, Soul Travel, etc. This book sums it all up because Michael Newton tells a non-biais account of what happens BETWEEN lives.... We've all read about the "Tunnel of Light" seen by those who've had near-death experiences, the call of Light Beings, the account of those who "saw" dead relatives talk to them while they were still living, etc.... Destiny of Souls makes an account of about 70 cases where people tell what REALLY happen after a person "translates" (dies.) The author goes a step further than light tunnel, and so forth. Moreover, there is a common thread among all those (all of us really!) who goes through this process: the love of dear ones that welcome us after departing from this Earth world, a personal spiritual being who guides us to our rightful place, the summary of our past life in a "holographic library," the Council of Elders who help us sort our different experiences (past and future), the choice of our new body (male or female, since Soul is androgenous) for a new incarnation on this planet - or elsewhere in the universe! - All in all, an excellent book which will give hope to anyone seeking (and hoping) for something beyond the veil of death... For years, I was a practitioner of astral travel and today I learned the subtle art of Soul Travel (taught by ECK Masters,) which goes much further than "limited" astral travel, so I was able to validate my own personal experiences through reading some of the accounts in Newton's book. A must read for the REAL spiritual student of all ages!
Rating: Summary: Did the author corroborate his findings? Review: I thought the book was interesting, but it seemed like the author should have researched obituaries of people (e.g. the couple that drove off a cliff in California) in the newspapers. Perhaps that could be another book.
Rating: Summary: Desiny of Souls Review: I was torn on trying to decide rather to give this book three stars or four. I would like to give it a three plus. It is a fascinating subject matter, and his work collaborates a lot of what I have read in other books.
What I would like to see Dr.Newton do on his next book is document his sources a bit better. How does one know these are real case studies? I have read several other books on reincarnation that has given the names of the persons under hypnosis. One would think Dr.Newton could at least validate half of these cases for us.
With that said it is a great book. Especially for anyone new to the subject, or in the process of grieving for a lost loved one. As this book shows us that truly no one is ever "Lost" to us. So for that Destiny of Souls gets four stars.
Rating: Summary: Reincarnation Revisited Review: In Michael Newton's second book, he continues to fascinate and intrigue us about life after death. As in "Journey of the Souls" we are treated to the authors clear, entertaining, writing style, which educates as well as entertains. This man knows his subject, and whether or not you agree with him, he makes for a good read. My only complaint is that at times he becomes a little too detail-oriented in some of his observations about various procedures that take place in the "spirit world". Most enlightening is the stages a soul goes through during it's development and the patience one's guide and teacher's have for mistakes and improvements. No fire and brimstone here! There is also an excellent treatement on suicide, and it's influence on the process. If you are attracted to a no-nonsense view of reincarnation without the dogma of religion to confuse you, read this book.
Rating: Summary: Unbelievable Review: It was no accident that I came across this book! I've read it twice now and each time I see something new that resonates with my own inner knowing and truth. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that there is life between lives.
