Rating: Summary: Best book on overcoming Ego I've seen in a while Review: The idea that the Ego could be overcome without fasting, meditation, or drug use appealed to me. I knew that the Ego was and is an illusion, and that this illusion creates the Shadow, but I didn't know how to go about dispelling the illusion. This book helped a great deal.I give it four stars, rather than five, because it takes a rather dim view about repairing damaged relationships. While this view may be accurate, it lead me to bail out of the best relationship I've ever been in, rather than actually try to solve the problems.
Rating: Summary: This book is like a soothing cup of soup for the soul! Review: This book is rich with advices and principes that I have to read it a little at a time to savor and understand. This book has helped me a lot understanding why I do the things that I do and start taking control of my life as an adult. I regreted that there's not a lot of concrete, workbook-type exercises in this book, which I think will be personally motivating.
Rating: Summary: concise and intelligent Review: This book provides a logical and helpful outline of stages of growth in behavior, relationships, psychology, and spirituality. Every chapter has fresh ideas and insights (really). Written from a Jungian perspective. Neither pop-psychology B.S. nor self-help mush. Practical, articulate, concise, and wise.
Rating: Summary: A book I read and reread for it's insight and approach. Review: This little book is loaded with insights. One read is not enough. I find Richo's use of the hero's journey to describe adult emotional and spiritual maturing insightful and helpful.
Rating: Summary: self help! Review: very easy to agree that work needs to be done to grow as a human being.
