Summary: A wonderful entry-level introduction to the the Course
Review: A number of people I know have found the Course overwhelming at first sight. Several of them have found this wonderful book a means of easing their way gently into the Course's formidable thought system. What's remarkable about this unique contribition to the vast body of literature about the Course is the fact that Karen Casey, while making the Course "user-friendly", has remained faithful to its radical teachings. Course students, new and old, have reason to be grateful to her.

Summary: A very helpful way to "get into" The Course in Miracles.
Review: Every morning, I read the message for the day; unbelievably, the message always seems right on. For those who have tried to read "The Course" straight (without help), this book will make it seem almost understandable. I was drawn to Casey's book because it is beautiful to look at, touch and hold. If you're looking for a great way to start the day, buy this book and then READ IT!! What a great deal of peace can enter your life with a few minutes a day

Summary: Crystal clear pratical applications of ACIM teachings
Review: Feel as if you still don't get it? You've read ACIM several times and have tried to get through the daily lessons, and feel like you still don't get it. This wonderful little book will help you stay in touch with the teachings in a very practical and (for the most part) understandable way. Perhaps just by doing the 'daily practice', it will all become clear. Good luck whatever path you choose.

Summary: Well intentioned
Review: I have respect for this author because she prefaces this book of meditations with an acknowledgment that she is not an "expert" in A COURSE IN MIRACLES. The author's willingness to admit to this could be seen as being akin to the "little willingness" the Course asks its students for. The Course says that we don't need to know everything, that the Course's aim is not the accumulation of knowledge but the experience of peace, and that peace cannot be attained until we admit that we do not know what is best for us.

That being said, it is my opinion that the meditations in this book are not quite A COURSE IN MIRACLES. The Course teaches that this world is dream world and that there is no hope in this world. The only hope we have is to realize that "there is no world!" We want to wake up from the dream, not "improve" the dream. This book, however, seems to present the idea that we should seek to improve the dream world we believe we are in. This is very much in line with many other self-help and New Age meditation books. A COURSE IN MIRACLES, however, is not in line with most self-help and New Age philosophy.

The meditations in this book are certainly inspiring, and they left me feeling good about myself. So I would recommend this book to you if you are looking for meditations to help you feel good about yourself. But if you are seeking a year's worth of meditations that fully grasp the non-dualistic metaphysical foundation of the Course, I would suggest the Workbook of A COURSE IN MIRACLES.

Summary: Do not seek to change the Course
Review: I understand why Course students read these kind of books: ACIM can be quite confusing. Jesus, in his Course, advises students NOT to change the Course, but the ego will have its way, thus a mountain of these types of books in the marketplace. If you are a confused ACIM student, go buy Kenneth Wapnick's books and tapes. You will STILL have to put in effort, he offers no shortcuts (the Course IS a shortcut) but your confusion will subside and you too will make real progress as a student.

Summary: Good for the Soul
Review: My husband and I have been reading the "Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course in Miracles" together daily for over ten years. We have found that no matter how many times you may read a passage it always pertains to something going on in our lives. We have been enriched as a couple and as individuals by this book and it's teachings. We have been able to practice some of the complex ideas in this meditation. It has given us an advantage is situations which use to baffle us. We ask ourselves and each other who is running the show, "Your Ego, or The Holy Spirit!" As suggested in the meditations, if it is the ego that is why we feel "bad." If it's the Holy Spirit that is why we feel "good!" We are grateful to Ms. Casey for encapsulating this important work into daily meditations.
Peace Always,
