Review: With 'The Rebbe's Army', Sue Fishkoff's takes a balanced look at the Lubavitchers, who go against the grain of Jewish tradition to actively spread their message from their own religious center in Brooklyn. While they are labelled as ultra-orthodox, I didn't get a sense in this book what exactly does it mean. In Israel, ultra-orthodox is a catch-all phrase that usually signals somebody's political pursuasion rather than beliefs and practices. I would have liked to learn more about the latter.
