Rating: Summary: The game of seeking ends here. Review: The first thing I (this body) did when this book arrived was read the back cover. Tony Parsons is quoted on the back cover and there is a sentence in the middle of the quote that begins with "While we enjoy this game of seeking,...". When I read those first seven words in that sentence I stopped reading as if a sensor inside me was triggered. I thought hmmmmm...if that statement is true, then life is just a game and all of the seeking that I do, like the striving to improve myself and always trying to make more money because I think it will complete me, is actually an illusion. Imagine, I didn't even open the book yet. Anyways, it was the beginning of a complete shift in the way I see the world. It's as if my perception had completely flipped upside down. Before this book, I had read several books by Eckhart Tolle. This book is more direct. Btw I decided to buy the book based on the 1 star review submitted on 3/5/04 entitled "I didn't get it". The reason is that I was intrigued by the "there is no thing the no me can do" type of statements that the reviewer included. You should refer to if you want to get an idea of what the book is like.
Rating: Summary: I Agree with The World Greatest Humble Guy (Gardner, MA Review: The World Greatest Humble Guy (Gardner, MA)-- I like your reviews. We seem to have common interest and think alike.
Would like to correspond with you. Would like to discuss Tony with you. Email rbgoyer@yahoo.com.
Rating: Summary: THIS Review: THIS IS ALL THERE IS is the mantra of Tony Parsons and throughout this book it comes at you from all angles and perspectives, the impact being a kind of neti, neti (not this, not this) revealing just the knowing of what is. Invitation to Awaken and the recent Dublin tapes (very highly recommended) point to the seeing that there is nothing to attain, no one to attain anything and nothing to reach by effort or otherwise. There is just this.
Rating: Summary: Incredible! Review: This is an incredible book that helps us see ourselves more clearly and live our lives with a heightened sense of awareness. Many times, we think and do things without thinking about why we are thinking this way or why we are doing such things. Many times we are not even aware that we are doing certain things. This book helps us reach a higher state of awareness and allows us to recognize our thought and behavior patterns and understand why we think and do these things. Once we consciously understand these things, our world completely changes. It is an amazing thing. If you are ready to move out of the rut of life, I'd highly recommend this book. There is also another book that has helped me immensely on this. I might as well share it with you. It is called "The Ever-Transcending Spirit" by Toru Sato. It is also a fabulous book on personal-development that explains how and why all of this happens. Absolutely stunning!
Rating: Summary: Brilliant - Read this Book and be Free Review: Tony Parsons not only takes you up the mountain by pushes you off. It's a revolutionary way of seeing that can be quite shattering and at the same time ultimately liberating. Read this book if you dare! The message is clear and simple, accept everything life tosses us with the understanding that it is all the invitation to awaken to life AS IT IS rather than getting caught up in the story of what has happened and what might be. Believe me, this book can change your life!!!
Rating: Summary: Further explanation... Review: When the initial identification with the self is broken and the ground of presence is felt it seems that there was an awakening from a dream state of individuality. However, what happened was that awareness now became identified with presence and see the small self as unreal. Before awakening, the identification was with the small self and presence was seeing as unreal. When seeing that the identification process of awareness is the cause of the self and the non-self felt kind of existence both positions are seeing as real and unreal. Thus, there was never an awakening from a dreamed state, only seemed to be. Existence then is honored all the way up (to identification with Presence or God) and all the way down (to identification with the small self) as Spirit is in everything and there is no place where Spirit is not. Parsons just need to realize that his identification with Presence is not more real than his previous identification with the self. At that point he can embrace both and have the complete picture. I hope this clarify my previous comment.
