Summary: INVALUABLE
Review: Not only is Andrea McNichol's book on Handwriting Analysis the absolute best book on graphology that I've read thus far, but it was one of the MOST ENJOYABLE BOOKS I've ever read period! Maybe it's the "detective" in me, but anybody who loves a sleuth will thoroughly enjoy this book. It is colored with humor and the writer obviously has a gift for teaching. The book is very well written, and the content so interesting that I literally couldn't put it down. This is invaluable information. As someone who is working towards a PhD in Psychology, I was AMAZED at the significant contribution that graphology makes to the field, and even MORE amazed at how mental health professionals have gotten along without it! Worth it's weight in GOLD!

Summary: Very informative, understandable, best I have read.
Review: Out of all the handwriting analysis books that I have read, this was the most interesting and helpful. I'm not so sure that I would have really been able to put handwriting analysis into practical use without her book. I could not put it down.

Summary: okay as an introduction
Review: Readable and entertaining, but not especially useful as a reference. She makes graphology seem much simpler than it really is--simplistic, even--making blanket statements about certain handwriting traits without explaining how other traits can modify their meanings. (If everything she says is right, my sister probably is a criminal and my husband is a bomb just waiting to explode...) It's entertaining enough to make a good introduction to the subject, but I don't recommend it to anyone who already knows anything about the subject.

Summary: This book is GREAT
Review: Really good book, made easy to understand plus
the author shows that Graphology is a science.
Not something in the occult genre

GREAT

Summary: Fun, and gives you a secret power
Review: The information here is kind of like a secret weapon. You know somebody, and you wonder what type of person he/she really is, so you take a look at the handwriting or signature, and it becomes clear. I was shocked to find that my personality was so transparent. I suppose that all day I must give off clues, by my every movement, but in our society I think we are all trained to hide ourselves. Since most people are not aware of what handwriting gives away, they don't disguise it.
FYI, I tend to be a skeptic about any sort of supernatural things, but I like psycology, and was predisposed to believe this is real. Now I know it's real though. If only because of my own handwriting! I understand that handwriting analysis is far more popular in Europe, especially for job applications. Here in the US jobs are increasing giving personality tests, but not handwriting. I'd prefer if it doesn't catch on though, because, like I said, I have a secret power.
I'm sure you want to know whether the book is easy to read, and it is. It's really a lot of fun reading handwriting samples, and exciting when you get them right. You also get to analyze some celebrities. And celebrity killers. Fun, fun, fun.

Summary: Great book, but getting dated
Review: This book is great for someone who is new to graphology. It uses short common sense quizes to teach the material, and then some who-done-it action to show the application in the real world. I plowed through this book very quickly, and the information seems to have stayed up until now. It focuses on finding lies or drug users/criminals (and none of the suspect cases are innocent).

I decided to deduct a star for several reasons. The first is that all of the information is more than a decade old, and it doesn't get very deep into personality analysis. The other thing that made me a little weary of the book was how introverts and perfectionists/pessimists got a bum rap all the way through (as I'm an introvert). It's obvious that McNichol loves extroverts and conformity. She also uses "drug user" like someone else would use "total garbage". My advice if you read this book is to take out all of the indications for "criminal tendancies" and just replace it with non-conformist... and forget about reading the chapter on doodles, it's less consistent than dream analysis.

Summary: It doesn't get any better
Review: This book on handwriting is extremely well done. I recommend it to my audiences and students when ask,"what is a good book on Handwriting Analysis?" Andrea also has a set of tapes that make this book more meaningful and each time I watch them, I learn something new. "She knows of what she speaks"

Summary: very informative
Review: This book was the first graphology book I have ever read. And already I feel very skilled at it. It is very clear in explaining what everything means and gives you easy ways to remember it. I strongly recommend the book. It is extremely entertaining, informative, and readable.

Summary: Unusual Approach but effective -Good buy, good value ...
Review: This is a comprehensive book that covers most, if not all, critical aspects of handwriting analysis. What makes this book unusual and effective is the way its been laid out.

Ms. Nichol adopts quite a unique approach to the teaching of Graphology.

Rather than load the reader with lots of information (which can be a little difficult to assimilate & digest) ... the author adopts more of a Question & Answer type approach ...

Each chapter typically begins with the author providing sample handwritings of 3 persons, and then asking questions like: Which of the 3 stole from the employer, or which of the 3 is more reliable? (That each illustration is factual and taken from author's own experience, and not just some hypothetical situation - adds to the intrigue and compels interest)

Then, by using the 3 samples of handwriting as a base, the author takes the reader through a particular characteristic of handwriting (such as: pressure, slant, spacing or letter formation etc) which might help answer the question posed.

By adopting this solve a 'who-dun-it' method ... the author has found a very effective and interesting way of teaching Graphology. It certainly kept me turning the pages ...

The book as a whole is filled with lots of little exercises and plenty of illustrations, all of which encourages reader participation and interaction. Although it takes a little getting used to, the book allows and compels the reader to put into practice almost immediately, what is being taught ... and this in turn, assists with retention and increases understanding ...

Very good book for anyone wishing to learn more about Graphology ...
