Rating: Summary: kids info guide Review: This is a great book for kids. I bought the book and read it first before I gave it to my daughter. It had the same beliefs I have and although we discussed my beliefs before this brought up more questions for her and gave her deeper insight into the spiritual world. She loves the book. It explains about being born and differant types of psychicness and it is easy for children to understand. With stories at the end that will teach them like children sitting by a grandmothers feet.Great for opening up young minds.
Rating: Summary: Mountains, Meadows and Moonbeams By Mary Summer Rain Review: An excellent book for the pagan family. I loved reading this to my children and watching them light up knowing that they were not alone and not to be feared as so many of the children at school had tried to convince them. My children understand now that it is ok to be different and that God in all His/Her compassion, is not just loved in one way, but in many ways, by people all over the world. To love God is to love yourself and all around you. To share God in all the ways of the world is to walk without fear or prejudice. I will be getting more of her books for my children in the future. Mary's books are wonderful tools to help my children grow with love and understanding instead of fear.
Rating: Summary: all paths to the divine Review: Awesome book. My kids loved this book. It answered a lot of questions that they had but didn't think to ask. P.S. Mom loved it to. Well done
Rating: Summary: all paths to the divine Review: I am angry, and as one reviewer made no effort to read this book and just blasted other people's religious views with total bias and disregard for other people's feelings and spiritual paths, I think I shall do the same! I give this book 5 stars hoping that will somehow negate the negative review of the other reviewer! If your one true god is so special then go praise him, and leave us alone! We will do what is right for us! We will teach our children what we think is right, which is not to judge, to be open minded, and to turn their backs on bigots like you! (But more importantly, to pity you and be sad that bigots like you still exist in the 21st century!)Did you really think that posting an attack in the guise of a book review (a children's book no less!) was going to make any of us go... "Oh wow.. He is right! I have seen the error of my ways!" and take off running to the nearest church! You must not be very bright either. From what I have heard, this book is awesome, and when my child is born I will read it to her and teach her the truth as it came to me! I will also teach her that all paths to the divine are wonderful extensions of our divine nature, which is a blessing from the God and Goddess NOT a curse! I can't think of a better gift to give my child.
Rating: Summary: Mountains, Meadows and Moonbeams By Mary Summer Rain Review: I bought this book when I myself started the awakening to myself and God. What better way to start learning than from a child's view? I bought this book to read with my Grandchildren who are sighted so they may may better understand who and what they are in reference to God and all that is. The children are the future caretakers of our Mother Earth and thanks to Mary Summer Rain they both have a chance.
Rating: Summary: Somewhat disappointed Review: I had read such glowing reviews for this book, and was disappointed when I ordered my own copy. The simple line art illustration wasn't to my liking and while the book had interesting chapters on dreams, visualization, and wish craft, I found it's basic theology to be inappropriate for my Pagan belief system. I believe in the multiplicity of deity, and was surprised that this book was very monotheist, stressing "one God" who "has a plan for our lives." I would recommend this book for those following a New Age, or Mystical Christian path, but not those raising their children on a Pagan path.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful children's book! Review: This book presents pagan condepts at a level and in the language children can understand. I bought this book for my grandson, and while he is only 4 years old, he understands some of the chapters already. I read the chapter to him, then he asks questions and we talk about it. This book was written for the 8 to 10 year range. Younger kids can understand some of the concepts, while older kids can easily grasp the meanings. It's also a good book for adults just starting on the pagan path. I recommend this book to the young and the young at heart alike. Great beginner's book!
Rating: Summary: Mother of 5 Review: This is an excellent book for teaching the spiritual basics of the universal truths. I have 5 children ages 18, 13,11,9,8. All of them have benefited from this book. This book has helped me explain truths that I could not put in the right words. Mary Summer Rain speaks so well to young minds as well as to adult minds. The pictures are on a childrens level so that where they dont at first understand the words, they can look at the pictures and get an idea of what is being said. By the second time around in the book my children were all understanding. I make this book a nightly bedtime reading. She has broken down the truths in small digestable pieces just enough for understanding. What a wonderful gift we give our children to help them understand and to heal our land. They are the age of peace and harmony.
