Summary: Poignant, funny, fascinating and well-written!
Review: After seeing this book advertised in a magazine, I asked for it for Christmas. I received it, read it, and was NOT disappointed! The author paints a frightening (and at times amusing) portrait of growing up in a dysfunctional, fundamentalist Christian family. She even spent a year at Bob Jones University! Fortunately, she slowly but surely came to realize you can be a Christian and not take the Bible literally, that Christianity can be more about what you CAN do instead of a list of "should-nots." Well-written, interesting, sad, but funny at times, too. I recommend it.
