Summary: Treasure Trove
Review: Catechism's seem to overwhelm most people don't they? Very rarely do they invite the reader to indulge in it from cover to cover--more often times, you pick up a Catechism and thumb through--seeking a specific reference. However, this one is "comfortable". Not simplistic by any measure, but friendly and beautiful! I would definately add this to my collection. If there's a non-Catholic in your life asking for scriptural references to our beliefs...this is a treasure trove of insight for them. It will definately leave them scratching their heads. The artwork is an added touch of inspiration too!

Review: Great book! An answer if you are of the Catholic faith and need a few clarifications. If I had had this as an instructional tool in my youth, I am certain I would not have had as many misconceptions about my religion as I had. There is a reason The Church is strict. The Church is our guide, like a Mother. There are references to the Bible throughout, so keep your Bible handy when reading through this one. Many who fall from Catholicism do so because they do not know/understand the teachings. Wish I had this 20 years ago.

Summary: Beautiful, reverent, clear, orthodox
Review: If there is one Catholic catechism I can recommend to the whole family, it's this one. The Catholic faith is explained clearly and beautifully in 193 sections that cover everything a Catholic needs to know in order to live his Faith to the fullest. Beautiful pictures and illustrations grace each section of this catechism, and easily understandable explanations clearly show what Catholics believe and why. In each section there is an abundance of quotes from the Holy Scriptures. This is a truly beautiful hardcover edition that's definitely worth the price. Should be in every Catholic household. Completely authoritative. Well indexed. Republished from the 1954 edition.

Summary: A Revival of One of the Best
Review: My Catholic Faith was one of the treasures of my youth. The book belonged to my altar boy brothers, and so when I left home, and the Church was shrouded in modernism, I was sure I would not see that fine book again. I was pleased to see it in print once again, beautifully bound and illustrated. Because Bishop Morrow's book has not been "updated," the illustrations are a wonderful historical reference to the splendor of the Universal Church in all places.

I understood and appreciated this book at age ten. I understand and appreciate it still more as I near fifty.

Summary: Solid doctrinal text fully supported by the Magisterium
Review: Startled by the somewhat incoherent commentary of the first reviewer, I post to refute his quite erroneous view of this text. This is a solidly Roman Catholic, doctrinally sound text in every word on every page, in those matters which are related to faith and morals. While the Church has changed some of the mutable rituals and practices of the past, the commentary on those things changed are of great historical interest and are preserved in this book as indications of the past reverential practices of the faithful. The wonderful art work on many of the pages is a special treasure for students of their faith and especially for children who are delighted by such beautiful representations. Vatican II did not change as much as some dissident American Catholics would like to think. This book is an accurate representation in every respect of what the Roman Catholic Church teaches about salvation.

Summary: A Guide to Jesus Christ's Catholic Church
Review: This book is doctrinally sound and accurate in addressing everything that is taught by the Holy Roman Catholic Church. Originally printed before the Second Vatican Council, it is a wonderful supplement to those wishing the learn the COMPLETENESS of Catholic Dogma. Artwork is superb. This book will give an appreciation for 2000 years of Church teaching and History, in spite of what has happened in the last 30+ years.

Summary: A Great Resource to True Roman Catholic Teaching
Review: Unlike post vatican 2 catechisms and the novus ordo mess which have corrupted the Catholic Faith this book provides a true prospective on unerrant and uncorrupted Catholic teachings.
I would recommend this book for those interested in learning about or preserving their Catholic faith, outside of which there is no salvation.
