Review: Overall this is an excellent fill-in-the-blank workbook for Bible study groups on 15 themes from Proverbs. Topics addressed include family, friendship, wealth and poverty & life and death. Most quotes are from the NIV with a few from the RSV and KJV. Originally written in 1990 by Ron Rhodes, this popular booklet is in its seventh printing. Suggestions are made on how to use the guide as an individual and as a group. For a more in-depth commentary on Proverbs a good companion is THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO THE BOOK OF PROVERBS by Cody Jones. The comments are interesting and very readable and put things into a historical setting. It includes many historical drawings and photos to give you a sense of the culture of the time. A topical guide is included along with 6 translations in parallel to aid understanding.
