Summary: no small wonder
Review: a nice little book that makes for a good companion to "From Terrorism to World Peace" by Meister. What promotes the unitive forces of religion is what the world desperately needs these days. Books like this one help lead the way.

Summary: Universal principles of life
Review: Every now and then a book comes along that reminds us of the most important truth. Mainly, that when you get right down to it, we are all ONE. This is a book for resolving conflict and building respect, compassion and understanding. Mr. Moses has done a superb job of choosing categories and classifying the different religious statements. This is a great book for a Comparative Religions class or maybe a seminar on Oneness or Pluralism, or just for that late night inspirational read!

Summary: Memo for the 1 star reviewer
Review: In regard to the comment of a previous reader, identified only as Oregon, USA, I agree that annotations would have been interesting. I can say that the author of Oneness, whom I personally know and consider a friend, is currently working on an expanded edition of the book that will contain annotations citing specific scriptural sources for each saying. When Oneness was first published, more than ten years ago, it was intended to be a non-intellectual, let's-not-argue-about-the-differences type of book. The topic of Oneness has become more mainstream, (perhaps in part because of this book) and people today seem to be more curious about the sources. If anyone (particularly the 1 star reviewer) would like to receive a list of annotations for the sayings in the current edition, please feel free to write to Jeffrey Moses, c/o Random House, or E-mail me direct, and I will see that the list is sent to them.

Summary: Very Insightful
Review: Many people say that the world's major religions are similar in many of their teachings and this book shows how so. With quotes from the religious books of the major religions of the world, side by side, on each individual subject you can see how similar many of the teachings are.

However, I wish the book had been a bit longer. It's small size and short length make the 109 pages go by very quickly. The amount of printing in the book is small but the thought that it provokes is great. The book can easily be read in less than an afternoon but it will be thought on for a much longer time.

If you are curious about the world's largest religions and how they are similar, buy this book. You will be surprised.

Summary: Oneness
Review: This book is a blessing. One Saturday, exactly two years to the day after my daughter died, I walked into a bookstore looking for something. I had and have been on a spiritual journey since her death and I was in sad shape when I entered the store with my other two children. A number of years ago I had read a quote about the Golden Rule and how different religions all expressed it in slightly different ways but didn't realize and didn't really care that it was from a book. Lately though I had been thinking about it over and over and about how all religions are really from the same root. These thoughts had consumed me, especially since for the past two years I have been reading a lot of literature of the different religions. At any rate, that Saturday, almost exactly two years to the hour after she died, I walked into that bookstore. At once I knew there was a book in there I was supposed to have and that I would be led to it. I searched for probably ten minutes in different sections but when I picked up this book I knew immediately that it was the book I was supposed to buy. The quote that I had remembered and lately had constantly thought about was in there. It let me know that I was watched over and was being led to answers on religions that I was on a search for. This book showed me that my belief was correct, that all religions in their major teachings are essentially alike. If you read this book you can't help but come to the conclusion that differences in religion are minor compared to the major teachings they share. I highly recommend this book to anyone of any religion.

Summary: Oneness: Great Principles Shared by All Religions
Review: This is a great little book with a lot to say. I have re-read it many times and enjoy it more each time. Mr. Moses took the time, that I wouldn't have, to research many religions to show their similarity - very interesting and insightful. A great read for those needing inspiration and peace.
