Review: Don't miss reading the book along with the Bible. Some of the tidbits in this book are worth a king's ransom, such as where 360 degrees came from, why there are 12 zodiac signs, why certain numbers are used in the Bible, etc. The book helps in making the Bible fun to read.

Review: I have been searching for this book for some years, and finally found it here, in print still. Bullinger shows thru numerical values, gematria, and other mathematical means that "the Bible has but one Author...carrying out His own infinite plans". He makes the mathematician love the scriptures and the religious love math. One of my favorite parts is when he is explaining Dr. Milo Mahan's work on the principle of number 8 and number 13, and he gets passionate with the validity of the Bible, as over and over he demonstrates with gematria that every single name of the Lord's people are multiples of 8 and every one who were His enemies, are multiples of 13. It is one of the only books of its genre that wasn't exclusively written for Jews.

Summary: A fair crop...
Review: This book allows the reader a fair look at some speculative reasons behind numerology in the bible. One can learn a lot about how God utilizes number to encode further meanings behind biblical accounts. Bullinger shows some of the "mysteries" of numerology, and extrapolates what he feels is divine influence. However, he lacks in some areas like page 21 for example. He states on that page that speculation into the mysteries of God should be left alone, and then in the very next paragraph he's back to presenting rhetoric and speculation. The entire book is speculative about a specific "mystery" that Bullinger feels he understands; namely biblical numerology. If you want a better work on biblical numerology, check out John J. Davis' "Biblical Numerology".

Summary: Much more on scripture than title suggests
Review: This is a wonderful book. It is full of keys to understanding scripture. It is also a powerful resource for faith building. It is easy to understand. Although, as Bullinger writes, no book by a man that seeks to elucidate the scriptures is perfect, as is the scripture, this book indicates how perfect God's Word is.

Review: This is not a book on numerology which is a false religion, this is exactly what the title says - this is a book about numbers in the scriptures. Anything that God creates can be perverted for an evil purpose, this is not what this book is about. This book shows the intelligent design of the Scriptures by showing the supernatural intelligent use of numbers in the Scriptures as well as in nature. If you want to read this book it won't take you much time. If you want to truly study this book, it could take you a year. Great book!
