Summary: Another must read for O'Brien fans
Review: Plague journal is about a single working father and his harsh confrontation with the liberal establishment in a not too distant future. If you liked his other books you'll like this one also.

Summary: Plague Journal Review
Review: The book was quite excellent. I was used to and enjoyed some of the mainstream thriller authors. I hope Michael O'Brien would continue on this excellent course. I wish more people would read this with a wide open mind.

Summary: Great fiction raises serious questions about totalitarianism
Review: This thrilling novel raises serious questions about the present state of democracy in the West, and the dangers of "new totalitarian" thinking--which he demonstrates is seemingly benign but potentially just as destructive as overt tyrannies. O'Brien avoids the two opposite pitfalls of hysteria and denial, using his plot and well drawn characterization to raise absolutely central questions about the nature of government and individual and family rights. A novel that is the "Brave New World" and "1984" for our times. Thrilling and thought-provoking!
