Summary: Challenging, encouraging, easy to read and well presented!
Review: "No More Tithing", written by author George W. Greene, is a remarkable, insightful, inspiring piece of work that simply and clearly presents the tithe in its biblical context without being wordy or overly complex in the presentation of Scriptural evidence. This book is, for certain, an informative and intriguing read! Mr. Greene illustrates, through his book, the common misconceptions concerning what most churches call the tithe today and examines the plain truth of Scripture and the responsibility, freedom and joy found in true, Christian, biblical giving principles.

Another notable positive that can be said about this book is the fact that it is entirely non-critical in nature (as some other books that deal with a non-tithing position often tend to exhibit in their presentation). This book is must for anyone desiring to better understand the biblical concept of tithing and also New Covenant principles for giving. Pastors will also be encouraged and challenged through this study. Important questions, arguments and misconceptions about the tithe are answered clearly according to the Word of God.

"No More Tithing" does not present a position that encourages the reader to neglect giving to their churches or to the work of the ministry, neither does it exempt the Christian from the responsibility to consider the Lord first in the area of finances and how those finances are appropriated, however, it exhorts the reader to embrace the biblical concept of Spirit-led, love-motivated obedience to the Lord in giving. Attention is called to one of the main New Covenant directives for giving found in 2 Corinthians 9:7, which says, "Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

This book will challenge, educate, encourage and inspire the reader with a proper understanding of the tithe as it relates to (and differs from) the New Covenant example for giving. It is incredibly easy to read, to the point and well outlined. The heart communicated through this work is sincere and full of the love of God in its presentation. An excellent book! Definitely an enjoyable read! Not in any way critical towards leaders in positions of church authority or other believers in Christ. Mr. Greene has some wonderful insights that the Lord has given him concerning this subject.

Summary: Good overview of the subject....
Review: George Green has done a service to the Body of Christ by dealing with a subject that is often taken for granted as preached. What's more, most Christians are taught not to dare question this doctrine for fear of being a "God-robber."

I understand those who support tithing; I tithed for many years. Did I ever receive a blessing so big that I could not receive it (as those who teach tithing usually teach is a promised blessing)? Hardly.

And this was not due to lack of faith, "tithing the tithe" incorrectly, or failing to claim the promise. Truth is, this was a promise made under OT Law that was applicable for those who were the servants of Christ. Those who were under the Law. And if you are a Gentile by birth, you were NEVER under the Law to begin with. Only the Jews were.

We are Sons and we are also heirs. We give because we are already blessed NOT to get blessed. What is the basis for a NT Christian to be blessed? Tithing? NO! We are blessed through the same vehicle we are saved: the Cross of Christ. We through His poverty become rich...not through our tithing. This isn't to suggest that sowing and reaping do not work. It is a Biblical law. It always works. But it is not through a legalistic tithe but through what we have purposed in our hearts to give.

Ask yourself the question: "Why can't I tell the difference between those who tithe on my street and those on the other street who don't?" Something is seriously wrong with the way tithing is taught today.

This book is highly recommended--should be required reading for every Christian.

Summary: No more tithing! No more limitations!
Review: I am very glad that this book liberates Christians from the limitation of 10%. If tithing is restricted to the Old Testament, how can New Testament Christians give less?! Now we are free to give 20, 30, 60, or even 80% of our income. Praise God!

Summary: Diluted Theology
Review: There are many ways in which to honor God, the easiest being the giving of a tenth of one's income. As presented, this book undermines the Bible and promotes robbing God of the tithe. The informed Christian clearly knows that there is an abundance of scriptures to support tithing. God specifically states in Malachi 3:8 that if we do not bring the tithes and offerings into the storehouse (church), that we are robbing Him. The Bible outlines in Matthew 23:23 & Luke 11:42 what will happen to the pharisees, hypocrites and spreaders of false teaching should they reject the tithing message.

Summary: Diluted Theology
Review: This writing may be easy to follow to which we give credit to the author for his ability to communicate his point. Theology, however, is becoming more and more diluted with the complexities of the so-called Theologian. The more time goes on the more diluted the messages of modern preachers become.

This message leads people from the basic fundamentals of Christian doctrine to blatantly disobey the word of God.

Tithing is not, as many have eluded, an old covenant instruction only, but a biblical ordinance which was founded from the time of Adam. This ordinance was established not to fund "Church Programs", but to worship the Lord!

The rudiments of the Tithe are much deeper than supposed by others that herald triumphantly this books victory in story telling. We should stop trying to make excuses for what the Lord has commanded and just obey His word.

What I have found is many have confused giving with the tithe. This, of course, causes many to err believing the New Testament teaches giving only and that the tithe was done away with on the cross. This is an errant doctrine and should be noted as such.

Many have attempted to establish their point by using writings by early church fathers, and the history of the church. We cannot, however, use such writings or the movement of the early Roman government to establish new doctrine for the body of Christ. In fact, any good student of the word will allow the scripture to interpret itself.

Many excuses are made to disobey God in the biblical ordinance of the tithe. Who will follow the truth of the scripture? That person shall truly be made free.
