Summary: It's the best!
Review: I am I high schooler up in AK, and I love it!! This Bible is a great way to study and is easy to understand. As a high schooler I don't understand much, but with this I was able to understand what the different verses mean. It meant alot to me, being as I was solely dependant on my parents and their understanding of the Word. This helped me to study on my own or with other young people that I know.

Summary: It's the best!
Review: I enjoy this Recovery Version of New Testament everyday. It is helping me a lot in understanding the meaning of the Word, and as I read it everyday, or pray-read it, I not only understand more of the Lord's love but also get to experience God more and more.

Besides, the footnotes are very useful too. They provide knowledge, backgrounds, outlines, expansions, and links.

Strongly recommend! Especially because the translation is also very loyal the the original text of Bible in Greek.

Summary: God's Word now unlocked to me!
Review: I have been reading the Recovery Version now for many years. As I read it and use the footnotes and cross reverences, help is rendered to me that increases my love for God, His Word, and also for people. What I can not do in myself, God's Word is doing in me! I would that all people read this version of the New Testament.

Summary: Wonderful retranslation of the Word
Review: I have read the King James Version, New International Version, and the American Standard Version, but the Recovery Version Bible has a different flavor. It has clearer meanings and the translation is excellent. I have never seen a better Bible; it has footnotes, cross-references, charts, maps, and other helpful things included.

Summary: Recovers the true experience of a CHRISTIAN LIFE.
Review: Many people have their bibles at their home. Some it may be given free. Praise the Lord. WE ARE NO LONGER IN THE DARK AGES. We are not restricted in reading the bible. As long as we have the Spirit of Reality to guide us. But wait, some people are misled and carried away . Coz of lack of proper understanding of the bible, some didn't see the truth of the bible, some missed and some are AFRAID to accept the full knowledge of the TRUTH. Praise the Lord, we should consider Apostle Peter in 2 Peter 1:12, it says "Therefore I will be ready always to remind you concerning these things, even though you know them and have been established in the present truth" (Recovery Version) . What is the present truth? THE FOOTNOTES SAYS "..I.e. the truth that is present with the believers, which they have already received and now possess. In the first section of this chapter in verses 3-11, Peter used the provision of the divine life for the proper Christian life to inoculate against the apostasy. In second section in verses 12-21, he used the revelation of the divine truth as the second antidote, to inoculate against the heresy in the apostasy, a heresy similar to today's modernism. The provison of life and the revelation of truth are the antidotes used by Peter in dealing with the apostasy." WOW!! without the Recovery version, I cannot undertand what Peter meant. But blessed am I , I have such a wonderful bible translation. I TESTIFY that, the moment I read this translation again and again, the enlightenment never ceased. The light continues to shine. Prove it yourself. by the way, 1 cor. 15:45b " the last adam became a Life-giving Spirit" I don't see any problem. look also at New Living Translation and Today's english Version and the last the Greek word "pneuma" ... To all seekers of the truth. Let us consider the Lord's word in 2 Tim.3:1-13 "But know this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will br lovers of money, boasters, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,Without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self-control, savage, not lovers of good, Traitors, reckless, blinded with pride, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, Having an outward form of godliness, though denying its power;from these also turn away. For of these are those who creep into houses and the take captive silly women heaped with sins, who are led by various desires. And are always learning yet never able to come to the full knowledge of the truth. And in the manner that Jannes and Jambres opposed the truth; men corrupted in mind, disapproved concerning the faith. But they will not advance farther, for their folly will be completely manifest to all, as also the folly of those became. But you have closely followed my teaching , conduct,purpose,faith,long-suffering,love, endurance, Persecutions. sufferings, such as befell me in Anticoh, in iconium, in Lystra. Such I bore, and out of them all the Lord delivered me. AND INDEED ALL WHO DESIRE TO LIVE GODLY IN CHRIST JESUS WILL BE PERSECUTED. But EVIL MEN AND IMPOSTORS will grow worse and worse, deceiving and BEING DECEIVED......AMEN and AMEN. LET us Seek the WORD and its RICHES....

Summary: Exceptional, the likes of which we have never seen...
Review: Note: First of all, the Bible is beyond rating. It is infinitely good. The rating applies to the translation, clarity, readability, outlines and footnotes relative to other available versions.

This exceptional version is simply a glory to God and not to man. I absolutely recommend it to every person seeking to know God and His purpose.

I have 3 main Bible versions that I use: The King James Version, the Darby Version and the Recovery Version. I use the King James version for the beauty in the language and for correct pronunciation of words using phonetic symbols. The Darby version is very readable and has footnotes to names to describe their meaning, thereby enhancing the Bible narrative. Most important of all, I use the Recovery version for its clarity, accuracy and unsearchably rich outlines and footnotes that open up God's word.

While the outlines and footnotes clearly demonstrate the scriptural soundness, genuine quality and depth of the ministry of Witness Lee, they serve primarily (and I believe is the intention of the author) to help bring us closer to God and inspire us to love the Lord Jesus and His church absolutely and in a manner worthy of Him. God, Christ, the Spirit, the believers, the church and even the New Jerusalem become not just something objective but real and very practical in our lives.

The New Testament Recovery version is certainly one of my most prized possession.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The New Testament; Recovery Version
Review: The New Testament; Recovery Version is by far the richest source of supply God has provided to His children. Witness Lee has indeed interpreted and expounded the Scriptures not merely according to the letter but according to all the riches of God's divine life to man as revealed in God's Word. It is not an exposition of the New Testament according to human concept or philosophy, but according to God's heart desire and "His good pleasure"(Ephesians 1:9). It is utterly in line with the divine revelation as unveiled in the Scriptures. Indeed all those who have truly read it(including myself) would conclude that not only is it the best translation of the New Testament, but the footnotes and cross-references ushers the reader into a deeper and much richer understanding of God's word. Indeed one of the things that I have enjoyed the most is that my appreciation and enjoyment of Christ has become so much richer from studying the New Testament; Recovery Vesion. I would recommend footnote 6 of Philipians 3:8, among many other footnotes which truly shows how wonderful our Lord Jesus is to us. I strongly recommend this book to all those who seek to "come to the full knowledge of the truth"(1 Tim. 2:4).

Summary: One of the best modern translations
Review: The Recovery Version Bible (RcV) is one of the best modern English translations I have encountered. I currently enjoy using this version (along with others) during my personal devotional reading and independent study as well as in group Bible studies.

On occasion, comparing the RcV text with my Greek-English Interlinear translated by Brown and Comfort, I have seen that it accurately communicated the original meaning of the New Testament Greek by providing the literal English translation. Because of this some words and phrases are better translated in the RcV than in other versions. The literal translation of the Greek preposition 'eis' as 'into' in certain verses is a great improvement. As explained in the notes, using 'into' instead of 'in' plays a critical role in understanding the spiritual significance of certain verses, such as John 1:12 and 3:16. Also, in the Gospel of John, chapter 1, verse 14, the RcV reads, "And the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us..." This translation is significantly different from my KJV which reads, "...and dwelt among us." After conferring with the Greek text it was clear that the original meaning was literally "tabernacled". Using this verb form of the noun "tabernacle" (God's temporary habitation among the children of Israel) is a clearer description of who Christ was in the flesh: "The Word, by being incarnated, not only brought God into humanity but also became a tabernacle to God as God's habitation on earth among men" (Note 3). Other such cases where the literal translation is used are very helpful in understanding the original meaning.

The cross-references and notes found throughout the RcV make it an excellent study Bible. Similar to those of the Thompson Chain-Reference Bible (I also recommend), the cross-references are most helpful in displaying the relationship between various portions of the Bible such as Old Testament prophecies and types and their corresponding New Testament fulfillments and realities. The notes function on two levels, providing both a basic understanding of Biblical and historical facts and an intrinsic understanding that allows the reader to appropriate the truths in the Word. Included in these notes (which are at times quite extensive) are introductions and conclusions that give an insightful overview of each of the 27 books of the NT. Among these, Matthew 1:1, note 1; Romans 16:27, note 1; 2 Corinthians 13:14, note 2; and 2 Peter 3:16, note 2 are most impressive.

I highly recommend the Recovery version to anyone looking for a good Bible translation and study Bible.

Summary: The RcV brings me to the life element in the Word.
Review: The Recovery Version brings me to the life element in the Word. I have read my Recovery New Testament through a number of times and have been marvelously helped to appreciate the Bible as a book of life! I feel this is the way to enjoy the Word. And why not? Our God is the living God and His word is His breathing. The words that he speaks "are spirit and are life". Not only that, but through the infusion from the text, the outlines and the footnotes there is light from these pages. I see a strong principle here: "In Him was life and the life was the light...."

Summary: The Recovery Version--An Open Gold Mine
Review: The Recovery Version of the New Testament is a unique study Bible that provides over 9,000 extensive footnotes with the Bible text. As with most Bibles, it contains cross references for similar facts and expressions found throughout the Bible and language notes to help convey the full meaning of the original Greek. But the Recovery Version also provides a subject heading and outline at the beginning of each book of the New Testament. While the subject title embodies the main theme of each book, the outline lays out the factual contents and expresses their spiritual meaning. However, the hallmark of this study Bible is its prolific Bible commentary made available as footnotes. These notes not only help one understand the plain meaning of verses, but also guide him into the intrinsic spiritual significance of the divine revelation.

Although I sometimes like to pray over my plain Bible (with no notes of my own or others'), to receive personal enlightenment, a study Bible like the Recovery Version is too good to be neglected (new believer or Bible student alike). The footnotes are an "opener" of the gold mine of God's Word, inviting one to dig, discover, and enjoy. The riches of God's Word are so deep, it is hard to delve in without the help of so many who have gone before us.

As stated in the preface of the Recovery Version, the footnotes "stress the revelation of the truth, the spiritual light, and the supply of life." If any Bible-reader seeks these in his study of the Word, the Recovery Version is a must-have.
