Summary: Review of Parenting at the Speed of LIfe
Review: I really enjoyed this book. It has some excellent insights into parenting and spending time with one's children. It is a very readable book. It's funny - it took a while for me to get through it although it is not a big book by any measure. The problem was (and is) that I have been too busy doing things for my children. The book really made me stop and think that doing things FOR them is not necessarily the same as doing things WITH them. As a recently widowed father, I am very aware that I have to be finding ways to strengthen the connections to my children. I think I am doing alright in this area, but I could always use some suggestions. This book has some very good practical ideas on this subject.

Summary: Making a difference in my family!
Review: I received my copy directly from the author and was genuinely impressed and surprised by how this book and its concepts have changed my family!

As my son approaches the "tween" age years, I know that we have such an open communication and honest relationship, part of which is due to trying some of the ideas in this book. I have noticed a closer relationship with a lot of laughs and affection. I not only feel a family-parent relationship with him, but a friend relationship with him as well. We honestly enjoy spending time together. It's not the big "things" that make our relationship better, it's the one minute that we have a face-making contest, or the trip to the store where we sing opera together (jokingly, of course), or the few minutes at bedtime where we catch up on each other's days and share our joys and hurts. The little moments are what our kids are going to remember.

I really appreciate this book, and highly recommend it to anyone with kids, from babies to college-aged and beyond. Believe me, it'll help.

Review: This is a good book, easy to read yet very thought provoking. It contains short but right to the point ideas of how to connect with our children. We are already implimenting the ideas in our own family and are finding them very practical.
