Rating: Summary: thoughtful, caring, insightful, devotional, timely... Review: These words come to mind when I think about the work that Pr. Person has given to us. As a pastor I have often floundered through the psalms when doing hospital visits because not every verse is particularly helpful. Pr. Person has arranged the psalms so that they are in a format that is easily accessibe to the reader and hearer while still maintaining Biblical integrity. She has also arranged the psalms in a very helpful schema to deal with the different situations that a person might face in the hospital whether it be a sick child, a new diagnosis, confession and forgiveness or thanksgiving, etc. As a Christian, the psalms have always been a tool to understanding the life of faith, even (and especially) when life goes in some unexpected and/or undesired directions. Once again, this book would be a great introduction and guide to entering into the world of the psalms. Pr. Person even recomends that it may be used as a devotional book for families or individuals who are suffering. I highly recomend this book for all pastors, caregivers and anyone who is suffering or knows someone who is suffering.
