Summary: Well worth the time to read
Review: From the first page, this book was interesting and helpful. As a fellow teacher, I found the author's attitude to be one of help, guidance and love for others.
I wanted a book that would be prescriptive, teach me how to walk through difficult conversations. This book was the one.
Yes, it was asking me to look at my own life...this may be hard for some of us (like me), but I believe it is necessary if we are to improve ourselves.
What a super book to give a friend, a class, a group of new people at a church or wherever you work.
It will decrease the negative talk and improve the climate.

Summary: Thank You!!
Review: I can't imagine anyone reading this book and not finding it to be both challenging and helpful. The personal stories alone were worth the cost of the book. This book helped me see the dangers of listening to others say something negative about a person. I always thought it was okay to just keep my mouth shut, but now I see it still impacted me. To me, if someone does not find this book helpful it is because they are caught up in the very deception that Dr. Sedler discusses. I am having all my employees read this book. It should greatly reduce the problems we have from time to time with gossip.

Summary: Top Notch Book...A MUST READ
Review: I couldn't agree more with almost every review. This book is fabulous. It challenges our thinking, but gives positive approaches to reducing gossip in our lives. As soon as I finished the book, I found it helpful. I read it in one day and wish I would have read it years ago.
This is the second book of Dr. Sedler's I have read and I hope he continues to write. THey are both fabulous. (the other was "When to Speak Up (and When Not To)...great title.
Thanks for your transparency and openness. How nice to read a book where the author admits he has made mistakes and learned (or is learning)from them.

Summary: A Very Important Book
Review: This book confronts one of the greatest enemies in the church, gossip. I have been unfortunate enough to have seen the devistation that gossip can do to people. This book gives people the tools to combat the problem of gossip and criticism in the church.

This book gives Christians the basic tools to respond to and prevent the spread of gossip and how devastating it can really be if let go. The author uses biblical examples of what the effects can be to taking part in gossip. he tells about how simply listening to gossip can be devastating and destructive.

The only problem with this book is the lack of real life examples. The author talks about his own personal experiences, but they aren't always relatable to most people. It isn't a tragic weakness, only a minor one, which shouldn't distract people from getting their hands on this book.

This book also has a series of questions that enables the reader to really reflect on the issues discussed in the chapter. This book should be read by all pastors, leaders, and those in Christian leadership. All Christians should be educated in this area and how damaging gossip and criticism are.

Summary: changed my life
Review: This book helped open my eyes to the area of gossip as I have never seen it before. I found the book to be challenging, humorous and easy to read. The examples used were very helpful and also helped other people that I shared them with. I would recommend this book to others.

Summary: Everything I expected and more
Review: This book was very up front and helpful in its' approach. The personal and biblical application was very clear and encouraging. How helpful to see that not only has God provided us guidelines in His word, but also in life today.
The author gives a caring approach to the difficult item of criticism.
MOst importantly,he allows each reader to see the problem with listening to this type of speech. To deny its' important factors is to admit your own blindness to gossip(as many people do).
Dr. Sedler is honest in his sharing of what is going to tell us in his book and specific methods of helping each of us. It is evident that he was a teacher and knows how to get his point across.
If you want to read a book that allows you to lie to yourself and remain in sin...This is not that book.
But, if you want a book that brings truth, freedom and encouragement...BUY THIS BOOK.
