Review: Great reading for every serious Protestant reader - be it Mainline or Evangelical. I would have to say that this is a "must" reader for any serious liturgist, worship leader, or spiritual leader. His real-life examples are great and a big help in understanding the ways of Mainline Protestants and Evangelical Protestants.

Review: This book was very helpful to me. It gave me a larger perspective of the historical development of spiritual disciplines from a Protestant vantage point. I underlined it throughout and wrote all over the margins. This book would be a great resource for those who lead spiritual retreats.
