Rating: Summary: Nouwen is at it again!?! Review: Henri J. M. Nouwen does it one more time in this compilation of three of his most popular works. This is a book for all those involved with any type of ministry, especially those with a leadership role in ministry as a whole. Priests, Ministers and so forth would do well in improving their ministerial lives by reading this materpiece. Nouwen is not focusing on all the technical aspects of the ministerial experience, e.g. psychological, counseling, and so forth, but he has the reader realize that what is truly important in ministry, above all, is the encounter we have with the other person we are ministering to.Ministry is not some abstract experience, but is something that is real, in the here and now of it all. Nouwen, in this very prolific compilation, demonstrates how ministry is truly a fruitful experience between the person being ministered to and the minister. Ultimately, Christ is the center of our experience in ministry, and we need to try to find the face of Christ in the other at all times, as well as try to unveil him in us.
