Summary: "Taking Offense" and Giving It Away
Review: Jeff Wickwire's book came at just the right time: I had just taught a class on the book "Total Forgiveness" by R.T. Kendall, and received a hurt from a pastor and a church where I was employed. Wickwire, a minister himself, spoke helpfully in his book to my pain and helped me to move along to recovery. Giving and receiving forgiveness is so important to living the Christian life and most of us endure slights and hurts and offenses from others all the time--and all too often hang on to them and poison our lives. Dr. Wickwire's book is interestingly written, helpful in everyday life, gives solid advice, and is positive and optimistic in how we are to live our lives in the face of unresolved hurts. The chapter on "Choices" is especially useful. As he writes, "nothing you have suffered through yesterday is worth losing today and all your tomorrows!" (page 109)
