Summary: You can now begin to live in holiness.
Review: As a believer for seventeen years, I always wondered why I could not get "closer" to God and experience His presence in greater depth. Where was the peace that surpassed understanding? My living as a "carnal Christian" hid it from me. Sin and compromise were more prevalent in my life than I had realized.

"Personal Holiness in Times of Temptation" instructed me, in a very organized and Biblical fashion, how to present myself to God and begin the transformation to living a holy life. Never have I felt more at peace and closer to The Lord. This book guides readers through very logical steps and biblically-based exercises to enable them to realize the sin in their lives, repent of their sin, and then begin to experience HOLY LIVING. Also taught are very practical ways to resist temptation.

I could not give a higher recommendation for this book. I believe it is essential reading for those who want to be mature Christians.

Summary: A wonderful book on holiness
Review: The author claims, on the outset, that any reader will change his/her view of holiness at the end of the book and promises to help achieve the objective of personal holiness. I didn't quite believe him and was indeed sceptical. As I read along, it became clear why he was so confidential. He makes a clear distinction between positional holiness and progressive holiness. The scriptural verse in 1 Cor. 10:13 came alive under Bruce's pen. I salute him for making a very elusive and fuzzy topic like holiness so much alive and practical. The chapters on the seven steps are particularly helpful, though some may think it is too legalistic an approach. Nevertheless, there are nuggets of truth worthy of Christians serious about their witness and walk with Christ.
