Rating: Summary: Lessons For Life Review: BEST SELF HELP BOOK, EVER!
Rating: Summary: I got more than I expected Review: Although I believe there are some metaphysical phenomena, I believe most psychics are charletons, praying on people who don't want to take full responsibility for their lives. When I saw someone reading this book in my bookstore, I laughed and commented about it. She passed me the book, and I have to admit there is some solid information well worth exploring. Sylvia Browne does a good job of explaining how to release guilt and fear. I recommend reading Optimal Thinking: How To Be Your Best Self if you are interested in understanding all of your feelings, resolve each of them as they occur, and make the most of all types of situations.
Rating: Summary: Winning at Life. Review: Building on the backdrop of her own life and that of a spiritualist psychic medium Browne teaches readers the importance of connecting with their higher self /god through various techniques and meditative practices. Although she references our connection with god, she does so in a non dogmatic fashion. Brownes understanding of this world and the challenges that she has personally faced and conquered, serve as reminder to the reader that we can all overcome life's difficulties by developing our spirituality and strengthening our connection with god. Her techniques and recommendations are designed to lead the reader to a higher understanding of their spiritual self in relation to this world and beyond. A well written and easy to understand book. Psychic Medium Karyn Reece
Rating: Summary: A little more spritual is needed in this world. Review: I have not read the book yet but I have ordered it. I am
a librarian for a large public library system. I do trust
Sylvia Browne and I take exception to the comments about her
emphasis on too much spirituality and that she is out to make a buck. I believe our country has strayed way too far away from a belief in God and spiritual matters and that is why there is so much greed, hatred and violence in this country.
I would rather read her books than watch the crap that's on tv
nowadays.
And who's to say there is no other side? Those questioning
what she describes haven't arrived there yet so how do they know she isn't correct. Until we go wherever we go we have no business being cynical.
I have had too many experiences myself and so have some of my freinds to doubt Sylvia. There are charlatans out there but I don't believe she is one of them. And I don't think Montel
would have a charlatan on his show.
I am a Roman Catholic and my cousin who is a priest still sticks
with the belief that animals aren't on the other side either
because they don't have souls. I tease him all the time and tell
him he doesn't know for sure he hasn't gotten there yet either.
And I don't recall the Bible stating anywhere that animals aren't in heaven.
I think animals deserve to be there more than a great number of people do.
Rating: Summary: Good Reading! Review: I haven't personally read this particular book, but I have read 8 other of Sylvia's books and loved them all. I came away from reading her books excited and generally feeling good about them and also feeling like I was learning something. Mabey she isn't right about everything, and mabey she is out to make a buck (who isn't these days). But I think the main point that needs to be stressed is that she isn't trying to lead anyone away from God, which is the most important thing here. So at least we can say for sure, even if she is trying to make a buck, she isn't doing any harm whatsoever. Again, her books are very exciting to read, and I enjoyed every one of them I have read and didn't for one minute feel I was being "ripped off" or any such thing.
Rating: Summary: A definite 5 star plus Review: I rate this book high on my list and will recommend it to the members of my site. It's inexpensive and if you are like me and need something to do at night OTHER than watch TV...try it. You'll make astonishing discoveries. I promise, you'll enjoy it. It is that great.
Rating: Summary: A Bad Apple Review: In the book Sylvia Brownes Life Lessons Ms. Browne shares with us her "Ideal" eight step program. Is it me who finds it odd that someone who has been married more times than Elizabeth Taylor is hashing out relationship advice? A prophet (which she claims to be) is known or "Tested" by their fruits. Ms. Browne has PLAINLY stated dozens of times on Montel Williams and other shows that Bin Lauden was dead, as she also did Sadam Hussein. Well they are both alive and well. Obviously we have a bad apple here.
Rating: Summary: Con Psychics Review: It is still amazing to me that someone could write a book about their theories on life based on made up principles.I too have watched Sylvia and anyone who has been around life, been knocked down by tragedy,or really studies human behavior could make $$money on a book. She appears to hide her deception behind a calm, know it all exterior and humor but look closely and you'll see the neighbor next door who was always in the midst of the chaos quelching fears.Sorry guys, she has got conwoman down to a science!
Rating: Summary: 5 Step Program For The New Queen Of Mean Review: Sylvia Browne and her family must be writing these reviews, because anyone who had this eight step program (She pretty much stole from AA) needs to have their head examined. Look at this woman. She has been married half a dozen times. So what do you want to learn? How to pick a grade a looser? She cannot keep her nails out of her mouth because she's use to chain smoking. She needs to loose about 50 pounds. She has an abusive mouth (Look at how often she uses the word "Stupid" in her conversations).
I have a simple five step program for the new Queen of Mean.
1. Sylvia stay away from the male species. Obviously you don't click.
2. Quit smoking and save that voice and lungs.
3.Clip those nails down.
4.Join weight watchers (Maybe you could steal, I mean pick up some tips there for your next book).
5.Start a swear jar for every time you call some or their actions stupid.
Rating: Summary: Release guilt and fear Review: This is the second book that I have read that stressed the release of guilt and fear. The first Book was An Encounter With A Prophet. While Brown comes from a Christian viewpoint, Lewis comes from an anti-dogma, spiritual viewpoint. Lewis maintains it is difficult to release guilt and fear while continuing to believe Christian dogma. Brown ignores the dogma and presents some of the same concepts.
Regardless of their different approaches it seems that they agree on the need to release both guilt and fear.
Try both books one should work for you.
