Summary: Exellent survey. Easy to follow and practice. Nice photos.
Review: Instead of overwhelming you with a long course on yoga you get a very practical guide broken down into small morsels and readily usable exercises. Most striking is the layout and the format. Very easy on the eyes and never boring or verbose. Imparts enough knowledge until one seeks a guide for further evolution.

  Summary: One of the Best
Review: This was neither my first Yoga book, nor my last, but it is probably my favorite. It is a comprehensive introduction to kundalini yoga, and covers basic asanas, pranayama, and various meditation and concentration techniques. It is a very practical book, written in a clear, direct style. Swami J. offers his instruction without necessarily advocating a radical change in lifestyle (e.g., vegetarianism is not required). If I could keep only one yoga book, this would probably be the one. It presents more than enough information and exercises to keep one working for years and years.
