Rating: Summary: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Would Be proud Review: After faithfully listening to Dr. Price for 77 weeks, actually teaching the topic Race, Religion and Racism, his book by the same name is awesome. It's easy to read and very poignant. It was one thing hearing his words, but to see them and read them in print carries a much greter impact. This book is destined to become a bestseller, not only in the Christian market, but the secular as well. It provides an historic explaination as to where racism originated, in the church. Unfortunately, this book is only volume 1. I can't wait to receive volume 2.
Rating: Summary: following old scripts Review: as far as historical content the book is above reproach. Its his plan to correct the problem that i have a problem with. He's just sitting around waiting for them to give us something. He even says the white people of america are the only ones that can correct the problem. He thinks that they are just going to get up and say alright here's the reparations you wanted. I don't think so. He has to be prepared to get up and do something dramatic like run for president or open businesses that black people could run. I'm waiting to see what's he really willing to do when he sees that they're not going to just give us our money without a fight? I believe he would be very successful if he ran for president. Come on Fred go for it! We'll support you.

Rating: Summary: great Review: I bought this book and you cant get any better than what Dr. Price has in its contents. Everything about the lineage of Christ to how they used the African people wrongfully, and those that use the Bible as a weapon to support slavery. Great book!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Resource For African Americans Review: I found this book to be well written and documented. I understand the anger that Dr. Price feels as I am an African American who has seen some of this subtle racism. It is a shame when men who for years were examples of godliness, yet also secretly harbor feelings of white superiority. Dr. Price shows us that no man is better than another based on the color of that person's skin.Dr. Price writes this with tough love. He displays his love for his white brothers and sisters but shows his strong committment and lack of compromise in support of his own race. Jesus is truly in the heart of Dr. Price. It is time for those in the church who have even the smallest of "white supremacy" in their hearts to ripp that thing out through the blood of Jesus and repent for it. It is also time for African Americans to realize who they are as a people and most of all, who they are in Christ. We are not inferior but we are created in the image of God. Rating: Summary: Amazing historical insight Review: I have just finished reading the 2 volumes. I am an English-born African who grew up in Nigeria. Until December 2001, I thought I knew most things about the black race or dispersed races and slavery till I visited the Scheepvaart Museum in Amsterdam and saw the exhibition on Slavery and how much profit the traders made for a consignment of 500 slaves - over half a million dollars, in the 18th century. That really unnerved me - I did not know it was such a profitable venture. Reading these books put more light on the falsehoods that have been perpetrated as biblical truths and swallowed by both the white and black people alike. I first heard of the curse of Ham almost 20 years ago, and this was corroborated by the Dake Annotated Reference Bible, a most sought after study bible in Nigeria - one wonders how many more perverted conclusions have been foisted on people by 'respected' commentators. Two things are clear from these books, in the secular world the apparently 'superior' race have a lot of wrongs to right, there is however a better way; in the Christian world, people (all races) should move into the fulness of who they are in Christ, and leave behind the shackles and chains of physical, mental, emotional, financial and spiritual slavery. We know where we have come from, with that knowledge, we can appreciate better what was done for us in Christ and lay hold on the future that speaks better than our past - Philipians 3:13&14 (Paraphrased)
Rating: Summary: Insightful, challening, informative, accessible. Review: Race, Religion & Racism illustrates and documents how White Christians have failed to address wrongs done to Blacks in American society. Author Frederick Price advocates the governmental and societal changes needed to enable individuals of color to live and work productively together. Price points out that Adam, Eve and Jesus Christ were all individuals of color; slavery in America was enabled by the corruption of Scripture; that millions of Americans of diverse racial background feel the Christian Church has failed them; that despite differences in color and culture resulting from historical, cultural and geographical isolations, all men and women share the same blood as demonstrated through the fact that any racial roup can share blood through transfusion; that Christians who do not say anything condemning racism are as guilty as those who contribute to the racial dilapidation of society. Race, Religion & Racism is an important, well researched, admirably reasoned, and reader friendly contribution to the on-going national dialogue within the churches on the subject of racism, the brotherhood of man, and the role of the Christian to address the evils present in the secular world -- and within some professedly Christian congregations and movements.
