Summary: Shiloh confronts his past
Review: Along with the first book, I think this is my favorite! Lynn and Gilbert really outdid themselves this time. The dialogue is great (they crack me up sometimes) and the book is filled with suspense. About halfway through the book I got so engrossed I could barely put the book down to eat and sleep!!!! I immediately started reading book #8. Cheney and Shiloh are so sweet and funny together. I also liked learning some information about Hawaii. Great book! You will love it. I really enjoy the fact that Lynn and Gilbert create their characters to be very human. We see their faults, but it is pretty easy to love them anyway. If you have not read any books from this series... I highly recommend them... but start from the beginning!!!! (and when you get to this book you will be thrilled!)

Summary: Very good, with a few long stretches
Review: Cheney travels to Hawaii with her maid Nia and another doctor from San Francisco, Walker Baird, presumably to rescue Shiloh from Bain Winslow, who, at the end of book 6, convinced Shiloh to come to Hawaii to meet his mother, but while still on the ship, invaluable proof of Shiloh's parentage was stolen. Throughout the visit, they meet with hostility from Mrs. Winslow, and Bain isn't around much anyway, but his sister Brynn is very friendly and takes them on a tour of a Hawaiian crater, and when a volcano's eruption is eminent, Brynn and Cheney are both very good at keeping the people under control and getting them to safety, although Mrs. Winslow and one Chinese man keep causing trouble for everyone. The part of the book dealing with the volcano seems to take forever because of so many details, and I kept getting some of the Hawaiian and Chinese characters mixed up, but there are some wonderful moments too, such as when Nia teaches a Chinese lady about Jesus while the volcano is erupting around them.

Summary: This is a wonderful book....read it!!!! :o)
Review: I am not really sure if I need to write this review with all those other great reviews it got from everyone else!!! BUT! It dose really deserve them. I love all the extra infomation that you get about the past ect. Now Gil,Lynn where's book #8?!?!?! I need it!!! The only one drawback, you have to wait to read all of them!!! Oh well there well worth the wait. In the mean time I think that I will read some House of Winslow and Lynn's book, The Balcony. That will tied me over....I hope! :)

Summary: Not just another Christian Romance
Review: I started off reading the House of Winslow series and for some reason hesitated to start Cheney's series. I am so glad I finally started it. I have enjoyed all the books. I love the way the Morris's write about being a Christian without being pushy about it. They also make their heros and heroines real people with doubts, fears etc.

This book was great with all the excitement and you can feel the underlying current of energy between Cheney and Shiloh.

As far as Shiloh becoming a Christian.. I for one believe it is inevitable.. after all he is a member of the House of Winslow isn't he? The Winslow men take a little while but they always find their way to God. And this will lead Shiloh to Cheney where he belongs... (please hurry and write it)

Summary: Great book!
Review: I thought this was a great book! A lot more seemed to happen in this book than most of the other books in this series, and I found this book very satisfying. Of course, now I want to find out what happens next!

Summary: Shiloh confronts his past
Review: I was delighted to have more focus on Shiloh and his life. Will he ever tire of living his life for Cheney? For a man so smart and intuitive about so many things, will he ever see what is Cheney's priority? Shiloh's strong character and values once again lead him into danger and suspense, putting others well being first.

Summary: The best in the Cheney Duvall series so far!
Review: If you want to begin an addiction, read the Cheney Duvall series!

Cheney follows Shiloh to Hawaii, where he has been searching for clues to his parentage. The Winslows seem to be Shiloh's long-lost relatives, but they are determined to keep their family secret. Cheney resolves to discover the truth, but before she can, Mount Haleakala erupts. Then follows three days of ceaseless terror, as the terrified inhabitants of the island try to escape. As Cheney helps head the escape efforts, she discovers a startling personal revalation.

Summary: It was definately the best of the series...
Review: It was definately the best of the series... I couldn't put it down! The other books dealt more with the character development, but here their characters are very well developed so the book was more concentrated on the plot and story development. Island of the Innocent has a real sense of adventure that the previous books lack. I told myself to take it slow so I could enjoy it-- I'd been waiting for it for a year after all! but once I picked it up, I kept reading faster and faster. I'm pretty sure it was the last one from the way it ended... and that makes me sad. I love these books! The one drawback for me was that Shiloh did not become a Christian at the end. I have really been anticipating that since The Stars for a Light. For that reason mostly, I hope Gilbert and Lynn Morris write a sequel. It was very well written, had good morals, and was not predictable. (That's how I judge books.)

Summary: The best one in the series so far!!!
Review: This was an awesome book. It had its shortcomings, but in general it was great. In this book, Shiloh Irons, Dr. Cheney Duvall's nurse and a former pugilistic champion, has sailed from San fransisco to Hawaii with a young man named Bain Winslow (sound familiar, diehard Morris fans??) to try and find out more about his family. (when he was an infant he was abondoned on the doorstep of an orphanage.) Cheney, still in Frisco, discovered disturbing facts about Winslow. So disturbing, in fact that she decides to sail to Hawaii herself to warn Shiloh, and ends up staying on the island. Then, a "dormant" volcano decides that naptime's over. Cheney and Shiloh, along with some friends, find themselves racing for their lives, trapped between a river of molten lava , a burning jungle, and shark-and-jellyfish-infested waters. Of course, through it all, Cheney depends on God for strength to make it through it all. I think that this is the most exciting book so far... Gilbert and Lynn Morris have that talent of writing that makes you feel like you are right there with the characters. I was screaming and sobbing and praying right along with Cheney. Anyway, it was a fantastic book, but who's with me in thinking that Gilbert Morris should hire a new editor??? And someone please, please tell the authors to hurry up and write the next book!!

Summary: Island of the Innocent is fabulous. I want the sequel!!!
Review: Wow! What can I say? Island of the Innocent was totally awesome. I can't wait for the sequel. Let me tell you, when Shiloh came back to save Cheney, I was thrilled and scared to death. Wouldn't it be just like an author to make something horrible happen right when the good parts are beginning? Thankfully, nothing horrible happened to Shiloh and the book continued. This book was slightly different from all the other Cheney Duvall books ( I own them all). The writing style was slightly different. That makes me wonder, did Lynn Morris write more of this book than the others or did Gilbert Morris just change his style a little? Not that I mind, I still think the book is excellent. I thought it was totally completely awesome when I saw how the authors had tied in the Winslow series written by Gilbert Morris into this series. I'm guessing that with a couple more Cheney Duvall books, they can make it fit right into the Winslow series. Anyways, my biggest question is WHEN IS SHILOH GOING TO BECOME A CHRISTIAN AND MARRY CHENEY? I mean, by now, we know that they love each other and should be together. I don't want the series to end but I feel as if I have been waiting a long time for those two to speak their hearts to eachother. Well, that's pretty much all I have to say, so I'll end it with a couple words. If you haven't read this book and the others in the series, READ THEM!
