Rating: Summary: Not as good as A Rift in Time Review: From the beginning of this work by Michael Phillips, to the last, He has stuck true to form in offering an action packed mystery thriller. From Ethiopia to Israel to England and points N,S,E&W - Above ground, in catacombs, We follow breathlessly. The relationships grow strong and the folks we thought were nemesis seem to see the light. I did not think twice about buying this book after my enjoyable experience with A RIFT IN TIME. I guarantee you wont be able to put this down easily.
Rating: Summary: Interesting Review: I really enjoyed reading this book. What I most enjoyed about this book was following the trail that led to the Lost Ark. I am not a mystery fan, but I enjoyed being able to see why Mr. Phillips came to the conclusion that he did. I also liked all the action in the book. One thing that I don't like is the fact that everything turns out O.K. for the good guys. I am only in High School, yet I realize that in the real world bad things happen to good people. I wish this book was more realistic. But other than that I really enjoyed it.
Rating: Summary: Well Worth The Read Review: I thought that this book was much better than the previous one. The action in this one was well written, and I thought the characters were more human. Adam Livingstone & his crew have found Noah's ark, and have seemingly located the Ark of the Covenant. However, the shadowy forces from the first book are back to foil Adam's plans. About the only things I didn't like about the book are the following: Juliet seems to be pretty whiny during the middle part of the book. I understand that it makes her seem more "real," but it's kind of annoying. Second, the names tossed around with the Council of Twelve (Masons, Illuminati, etc.) really do nothing to advance the story. Rather, they seem to feed into the conspiracy buffs that are against those organizations. Overall though, this is a fast reading, engaging book & I would recommend it. I wonder if there will be a third?
Rating: Summary: Good book Review: I've just finished "Hidden In Time" and I enjoyed it. I'm an avid follower of documentaries and other news stories on the search for the Ark of the Covenant and Noah's Ark, as well as other archaeological news, especially pertaining to the Bible. (He also has some characters from the Oak Ridge and Knoxville, TN area -- where I'm located.) Phillips paints likeable characters. The archaeology aspect of the book holds true to much of what is being discussed about where certain items may be. Phillips also made a few simple truths understandable for me. My gripes -- at times the book's key scenes are anti-climatic. I would have liked a good vs. evil fight in the end. And, also it was difficult to keep up with the Knights of the Templars aspect of the book, since it was spread over the course of the whole book. Having that story told all at once would have been good.

Rating: Summary: strong "Left Behind" like tale Review: Many people would rest on their laurels after making two incredible discoveries that substantiate much of the Old Testament, but not archeologist Adam Livingstone. Though acclaimed as the top in his field after locating Noah's Ark and pinpointing the Garden of Eden (see RIFT IN TIME), Adam has changed from an apathetic agnostic into a true believer. He feels he needs to prove that God's words are real. So he and his team are in Aksum, Ethiopia seeking proof that the Ark of the Covenant exists in the St. Mary's of Zion Cathedral's Sanctuary, but the endeavor fails. The powerful Council of Twelve believes e opposite. They are concerned about Adam's recent discoveries and watch his every move in Ethiopia for obviously the Ark was allegedly kept there. Though within the twelve there is a major rift, the prime commandment remains stopping Adam from further proving that God exists. They plan to do more than just take pictures of the Ark. This exciting sequel is loaded with action and strong characters. It also contains a powerfully interwoven message that God wants his children to come home. The story line is fast-paced never missing a beat as the countdown to the end times start. Adam and his crew are a delightful group who begins to realize that he is a modern day prophet though the villains (except one) seem a bit inane in their petty posturing when an eternal "kingdom" seems at stake. Still the Left Behind crowd and fans of apocalyptic tales will want to read this novel, its predecessor, and other works by Michael Phillips. Harriet Klausner

Rating: Summary: Some of the best Christian literature out there Review: The Rift In Time series is some of the best Christian Literature out there. Both the quality of the writing and the depth of ideas are every bit as good as We all Fall Down, probably the best Christian novel ever written. So much Christian literature is written with the assumption that a Christian audience is the same as an unthinking audience...
Rating: Summary: GREAT! Better than A Rift In Time! Review: This book is even greater than its prequel! I could not put it down (just like "A Rift...")! What makes "Hidden" better is the revival of interest in the Bible being stirred up by the recovery of the arks and the subsequent spiritual revival of the world. I honestly believe that if Noah's Ark and the Ark of the Covenant were found that people would be forced to believe in what the Bible says. The Bible has been proven true by historians time and time again, but if actual artifacts were to be found! WOW! Anyways, I was also touched by the numerous conversions depicted in the book. I have been "drifting" as of late, and "Hidden" really got me thinking about things. I can also identify with Juliet Halsay. We have a similar nature, and I often feel uncertain of myself, much as she did. It was nice having fallible heroines and heroes for a change! (This book also made me cry, which is a sign of a truly great piece of literature-I never cry!) Anyways, if you like Indiana Jones and Biblical Archaeology, this book (and its predecessor, "A Rift In Time") is definitely for you! I'm only hoping there will be a 3rd book to close out a trilogy!
