Rating: Summary: A REVIEW ON 'ON LOVE AND LONELINESS' Review: 'On love and loneliness' is a good philosophical book . In this book the writer J. Krishnamurti clarifies the actual meaning of love through his logic sand ideas. There is the relation of thought and love and Krishnamurti defines the way to feel the actual love in this book.Krishnamurti suggests that when there is the existence of thoughts than there is no existence of love. When we think that we love someone/something or when we say to someone 'I love you' then that is not our actual love, infect that is only our thought. Actual love is possible when there is no self i.e. no the 'me'. When we see an extraordinary beauty of the earth, that may be rivers, lakes and mountains or it may be a beautiful girl, and then at that moment we forget ourselves. In that state, there is not the existence of the 'me'. At that state we don't exist at all. Only that great beauty exists. But after sometime thought comes to our mind and thus the 'me' comes into existence. Actually thought is the creator of time, it is our thought that says to us that we did something in the past and are doing something at present. In this way, it is possible to say that thought is the creator of time. When we compare one thing with the other, then there is no love. As for example, when we see a beautiful scene and keep that scene as out memory, then after that we can never see such beauty again in out lifetime because we will always be comparing any kind of beauty with the most beautiful scene that we have seen and which is in out memory. So, Krishnamurti suggests not to keep any beauty or it may be revenge, in our mind, he suggest us just to see it without letting the thought to come in out mind, he says this kind act as "the first step is the last step". He illustrates his argument by the love of the mother and father to their children. He says, "when a mother and father love their children, they don't compare them; it is their child and they love their child". So, love is possible when the mind is really quiet. It means that the mind in no longer expecting or asking anything. The book is worth reading for adults and young people who are always seeking love and who wanted to explore love. It's a perfect book for understanding love and beauty by a different point of view. His ideas and opinions are different from what we are following from our society but they are actual, practical and applicable.

Rating: Summary: Insightful dialogues into the nature of relations Review: J. Krishnamurti's inquiries into the nature of love and loneliness provide useful tools for self-examination, crushing through the barriers of self-delusion with regard to common ideals of relationships with other human beings. More than any so-called "self-help" manual this volume can provide life changing information for the open-minded and willing reader.
Rating: Summary: What is love ? Review: Like many people, I want to know what love is.. But if you don't know what it is, how would you recognised it when it presents itself ? In his book, Krishnamurti suggest a simple method. Do not seek love, instead look at each individual feelings that you have and ask yourself is this love or is this a path to love ? Do not judge but simply observe. just patiently look and let it reveal itself. Love is not attachment, nor is it detachment. Love does not contain fear nor is it pleasure. There is beauty in love, There is freedom in love, There is understanding in love, When you have removed "ALL" feelings/concepts/ideas which are not love, then what remain must be love. This is only my observations, and I encourage you to find your own.
Rating: Summary: A Different Perspective of Reality! Review: This particular collection of writings by Jiddu Krishnamurti has been of particular value in examining my own understanding of the nature of love as well as the idea of loneliness and it's origin in the mind. The result of digesting the ideas proposed has been nothing less than liberating - giving me a more balanced view for internalization as well as externalization. Next to his "Freedom From The Known" this has been his most important work for me. Highly recommended.
