Rating: Summary: Star Signs Rocks! Review: American poet "Mary Alice" Goodman, as Linda was known all her life to her friends and family, was certainly a much-needed prophet in our time. Linda found that the most profound method of divination lay not only in astrology, yet in the intersection of astrology, lexigrams, and numerology. She explains this all in detail in this most important book, Star Signs. One does not have to "believe" in anything to buy and read and treasure this book. If you are on a path to enlightenment, as we all are, and you certainly are if you are reading this...no matter the religious denomination, spiritual bent, or magickal background from which you come, this book, as no other ever has nor ever will, will increase your divinatory abilities, and surprise even you, should you be a skeptic. If you are considering buying this book, I assure you that the day will come when you will do so. And Review #4 is accurate when it mentions that anything since Linda's death in October 1995 which is published post-mortem under her name, is NOT her own work. Relationship Signs, and anything published in her name since 1996, is merely a product of a corporation called LGE, and not only a shameless exploitation of her good name, yet also very inaccurate astrology by non-astrologers, and so much New Age hooey of which Linda never took part. Avoid it. Buy your pre-1996 Linda Goodman books here at Amazon, or used at places like eBay or your local used bookstore. Linda believed in access to the magic of the Universe by us all. She said that there are shortcuts to enlightenment, no matter what your path. She called these shortcuts...books! I assure you that Linda's books, more than any other books out there, are the shortcuts that will help you realize that enlightenment is indeed a path that we must all walk alone, unique for us all. Linda's books are the truest yellow-brick road I have ever found, and Star Signs is indeed a steppingstone to understanding yourself, others, and the messages that we don't always see...without a little help from a poet and a prophet.
Rating: Summary: Another Great Book by Goodman Review: Another fascinating book by Linda Goodman. You can't go wrong with anything she writes. The chapter on numerology is especially intruiging.
Rating: Summary: It fills you with hope Review: I discovered this book in 1990 when I was 14. It changed my life. It made me really want to live. It gave me hope at a very bleak time in my life. I'm not sure if everything in it is true, but you'll want it to be true. Half-believing its mind-blowing messages are enough! Especially important are its messages on negative thinking and lexigrams. It will lead you to self-discovery as no other book can. I believe it is truly inspiring. There is one thing that deeply troubles me - did Linda really die 3 years ago? That makes me so sad! If anyone has any information verifying or contradicting this information, PLEASE E-MAIL ME! I need to know because reading this book has been one of the most important things that has ever happened to me. Also, did anyone try that color diet? If so, did it work for you? E-mail me. Thanks
Rating: Summary: Linda Goodman's Star Signs Review: I found this book to be extraordinary! I have read it over and over again as I have progressed through the evolution of my life. In reading and studying this book, I always found something which reached the very depths of my soul at a time when I've needed the information the most. Linda is a true master and story teller, and I would recommend it highly for anyone searching for truth. Her humor, along with the wisdom and messages she conveys are truly magical! For those of you looking for comfort and answers to the problems facing us in the New Age today, especially in the face of the terrorist's attack on America, you must read the chapters, "North-South Polarity Points" and "Playing Musical Eagles". This is a must read! It is timeless and full of great information, which touches the reader at a core level of "knowing". Whatever your interests, you will find it addressed in this wonderful book! But you must read the whole thing! If you jump around, you will miss so much...
Rating: Summary: Always remember... Review: in her books she explains the reason that she had to leave. I have studied her teachings for many years, and others I have learned that there is much more to be learned than she wrote so remember when you read the book there are things that she left out and things the reader must adapt to their own. Always remember, that it is her view on the powers that be...
Rating: Summary: Mostly Fantastic and Absorbing Review: In the spring of 1989, when I was visiting my best friend in Nashville, she told me I had to read Star Signs, this great book she had discovered by Linda Goodman. On the way to the book store, we started discussing karmic/spiritual matters and I mentioned that I'd always felt like Job in the Bible, my life was full of problems and unhappinesses, and my best efforts seemed to go unrewarded. We got a copy of the book, got back in the car and I started reading my birth number out loud. The first few sentences stated that people born under my birth number had some of the heaviest karma and may feel like Job in the Bible. My friend and I started screaming and laughing. Truly amazing. At the time, I was too young and inexperienced to fully grasp some of the things in this book, but I have recently started reading it again. The numerology is very accurate in the majority of cases, my roommate and I have checked out many friends birth numbers and laughed in recognition. The book also gives excellent details on how the Bible was altered and misinterpreted by ancient Emperors in collusion with the Catholic Church. I've recently eliminated red meat from my diet and plan to follow Goodman's advice on becoming vegetarian, it seems very safe and sensible. I also have an internet biz and followed her advice on pricing things as $5.99, for example, rather than $6. Still too soon to tell. It's an entertaining read and I do think Goodman meant well. I do believe she went a bit off the deep end in her older age, I don't believe in immortality and who would want to live forever anyway?? It also seems pretty certain her daughter Sally is dead. As for color diets, I haven't tried them so who knows? Nevertheless, it is a great, interesting read and much of the information is both accurate and informative. I have found that those who read Goodman's books with an open mind and sincere heart have very interesting experiences happen. I have also read Gooberz and while I didn't believe every word, I did suddenly meet several romantic interests, which Goodman said would happen while reading it. Coincidence?
Rating: Summary: NOT an Astrology Book!! Review: It's A Wonderful book & pretty Intresting too.First I thought this is some kind of Astrology book.I thanked god later that it is not.It was much much more than Astrology .There are things Beyond Astrology. Some things you will feel Unbelievable but think of it this way, before 10 years there were things around you, you believed not possible but they are very common to you now. Before 100 years it was believed that humans will never able to fly but we do today. You have to keep your Mind Open While you read this book, this is not an 'Ordinary' fiction book. Each chapter is unique within itself,Topics covered are Great.I liked 'Deja Vu'The Laws Of Karma,Forgotten Rainbows & Physical Immortality. Its Very Confusing That The women Who Spoke About Immortality Is Dead Now.Even I was very much Confused with it & trying to Figure it out. There is A reason behind it. I believe linda Is a GURU( I Know I am Using 'Is'because she only left her Physically,I feel she is between us,Watching & Guiding us)She was here to teach us Something It Was her Life Purpose. She Chose it before Coming On Earth. After That purpose is fulfiled there is no use to live in physical body.I am very much sure about this. After all she is in our heart motivating us toward the new unexplored world.............to Explore It.
Rating: Summary: The Start of my Journey Review: Many of you who have read her book are reading this review. She has put forth many Spiritual Truths condensed in a single book. Many who have found `love of work' can attest to the truth of her words that money follows automatically. Many who have found good health can attest to her strict diet that she proposes. With knowledge of Astrology, Numerology and Lexigrams presented to us, I would suggest to many readers to start to put into practice these teachings. Thus, you will be able to attest to her words once again. For those of you who haven't got her `Purple Plates', I urge you to try them out as well. Burns, cuts and headaches tend to disappear very quickly when used. Of her explanation of Karma, I used to always wonder why, if God is Love and He loved his children equally why would he harm some and glorify others. I realize now that Man has brought all his sins upon himself and has to pay for them through Karma and reincarnation. Lastly, the list of books provided by Linda is of valuable assistance to the strong of heart. I would suggest getting the book `Four Arguments for the Elimination of Television'. Then unplug your TV and you will have more time to yourself. Then get the book `The Game of Life and How to Play It' by Florence Shinn and put it into practice. Other books that have proved extremely enjoyable are `Secrets of the Soil' & `Secret Life of Plants' by Peter Tompkins and other Joseph Goodavage books.
Rating: Summary: Will enlighten your mind and soul, and link you to your Self Review: This book has been an inspiration and a salvation to me. I believe, not just in Linda, but also in her beliefs. I have no doubt in my mind (and my soul) that she is right ... even about the ideas that some would call "eccentric." A more complete understanding of the material she presents can be obtained from Gooberz. Both these books are essential in the search for true enlightenment. You can't just believe in it ... you have to know it's the truth. In this way can one truly bridge the gap between the temple and the S-elf. For those who wonder about her "death," remember what she wrote in the chapter about Immortality ... sometimes one must disappear and reappear as someone else in order to live a peaceful life, away from negative publicity and away from the dangers of those less enlightened. And the color diet does work ... with no doubt in one's mind, that is.
Rating: Summary: The ravings of a madwoman Review: This was my first book that I read on spirituality many years ago. I remember it clearly and it makes me happy just thinking about it. I still remember being a struggling/starving college student and reading the section on money. How money was an energy...and that if you told yourself you were poor, you would be poor. And it struck me very deeply, because I always told myself...I'm just a poor college kid. But it all changed after reading this book....my path had begun. This book set the ground work of my future life and the person that I would become. The foundation of all my ideals and perspectives are still in this book. Even though this book is getting a little old, and Linda Goodman herself has passed on (or maybe not?)...this book still holds true and is worth the money and time to read it. I would suggest this book to anyone, it holds keys to unkown doors!
