Rating: Summary: Please yourself, flirt with others, and change the world! Review: Despite our lip service to the contrary, and that great Cyndi Lauper song, most girls don't love to have fun, because we live in a pleasure-fearing Puritan culture that is still highly, highly, suspicious of women's pleasure...especially, you know, down there. Mama Gena is here to change that. Mama Gena is a flirty feminist in caribou boas, a hedonist/ activist who deeply believes that a woman's desire is her power and her pleasure. In a series of exercises, she leads the reader to answer the question that Dr. Freud answered WRONG: What does a woman (you) want? When you can answer that--and you will--you will find your life changing in big and small ways. I am usually the biggest doubting Thomasina in the self-help book world, but whether it's energy, vibes, or the fact that you're smiling more, things have certainly shifted for me since I read this book. Who knew fun could be this much...fun?
Rating: Summary: Pure Pleasure! Review: I have to admit, I felt uncomfortable with some of the chapters in this book. Why? Because Mama Gena discusses intimate details about sexuality. She covers topics I normally don't read about. Thus it was sort of a shock to read her thoughts and how comfortable she is being a blatantly sexual person. But I decided to open my mind to what Mama Gena shares in her book and I must say she has changed my outlook on life! The goal of the book is to teach women to celebrate their gloriousness. She believes that many of us have let pleasure slip away. But we can become magnets with the power to attract good things by becoming attuned to our sensuality. Mama Gena (Regena Thomashauer) feels women are Goddesses and should be treated as such. What do you enjoy? Do it. Of course there are many self-help books that support trying to discover your dreams. But Mama lends a new twist. She teaches you how to become attuned to your mystical and creative powers, to be fully in touch with your sensuality so you can be transformed into a glowing Goddess. As a woman pleasure is your birthright! Buy yourself gifts, brag, flirt. Too much time in our lifes is spent focusing on what is wrong with ourselves according to Mama. Within the pages of her book are exercises, and inspiration to help you fufill your potential. I read about Mama Gena in a popular woman's magazine. Apparently taking a course with her runs in the hundreds of dollars. But women report remarkable results, promotions, new beaus, weight loss and more. Now you can fully enhance your feminity and claim the pleasure you deserve for the small price of the book!
Rating: Summary: Too bad my mama didn't talk like this Review: I highly recommend this book, and Mama's classes for women who need to focus on pleasure being a part of daily life. Instead of us taking care of the rest of the world, it's time for some focus on ourselves. Take the time to get a journal to do the exercises, watch the movies and do the assignments --- afterall it's all for you ! Enjoy
Rating: Summary: I really didn't want to like this book..... Review: I sat there, looking at the cover, being annoyed by the title and thought, "Oh brother.... this woman ought to get a life, I mean GIVE ME A BREAK!" and then I started reading. And nodding, and laughing and even taking some notes. This is NOT highly intellectual. It may not be 100% new material. What it does do is package its message in a way that is workable, applicable, engaging and enjoyable to read. I found myself mildly annoyed in certain paragraphs though it certainly was not enough for me to set aside all the goodness just because of that. It would be like turning down some double chocolate fudge because I didn't like the serving dish. Just not the right response.
Rating: Summary: A tiny bit over the top but valuable Review: Positive thinking, valuing yourself first, maximizing your talents, visualization and going after what makes you happy will result in a complete and happy woman. And the message is all in one book for women.
We ladies get in a slump (sometimes for our whole lives). We put ourselves last, listen to others' wants and fulfill them. We expect a great reward for our self-sacrifice. At the same time we think men (especially) ought to know what we want, but most of us don't know what we want ourselves. A woman's paradox.
Mama Gena puts it into perspective. Her exercises can be helpful in a theraputic way (my opinion). I enjoyed the read and KNOW lots of friends that REALLY NEED to read it even more than I did.
Rating: Summary: Mama Gena's Review: The writing was boring and simplistic. There was no real insight to her advise. I found it to be a waste of money and a real waste of time.
Rating: Summary: The power of the P-U-S-S-Y Review: This book is a fun read. I have read it more than once for pure entertainment, I have given it to every friend i know. It has changed my life! If you want to have a fun filled life tahn this is a must read!
Rating: Summary: pleasurable Review: This is a pathetic attempt at a book that is trying to reach a sad, lonely group of women who are still hoping to land a guy and a baby....really a puffed up magazine article that one might have read while getting one's nails done.. and still have wasted time.. I also recognized some of the women in it.. and they are the most vain, shallow, and mean-spirited women I have ever met.. SFAR... Single For A Reason.... this book will not help them.. or anyone else for that matter.. Save your money, your time and your self-esteem and Skip This School......
Rating: Summary: Yo mama Review: This is an electrifying read. It grabs you from the start and takes you on a how-to journey to having it your way--with all the frills. Women from teenagers to those who are post-menopausal in age can gain important insight in how to have a life that they've only dreamt about before. Men can learn how best to relate to goddesses and in turn become god-like themselves. A must-read.
Rating: Summary: Does this woman own any clothes that aren't pink? Review: This should have been a short article or a haiku, not a book.
Basically, feel sexy, you are sexy. Buy a lot of presents for yourself and feel happy. Get together with other women and form a group. Same as every other self help book except for the extra pink.
