Rating: Summary: the best self-help Review: a brilliant little book that packs a lot of spiritual punch.Ram Dass has the unique perspective of a scientifically trained mind that evolved into a spiritually adept perspective. Each thoughtful expression within these pages contains a nugget of knowledge or a pearl of wisdom to digest and then express in your individual way. Ram Dass re-invents the "golden years" to include at its heart the desire to truly pass on highly useful "gnosis" for the eternal benefit of others. Nobody does it better.
Rating: Summary: It's Okay Review: It's an okay book. I was looking for more quotable quotes for lectures and thought there might be some gems of wisdom in this book - there were. They didn't fit perfectly into my speech so I picked up a different book that had better One Liners that cut right to the bone of what I needed. However, I'll keep out Dass's book cause it has lots of wisdom in its pages. Just wasn't looking for so much spiritual stuff. It's good but didn't fit my business need.
Rating: Summary: Really beautiful and Insightful Review: The clarity of these quotes is quite remarkable.
Ram Dass has the ability to very clearly and simply relate his spiritual experiences in ways that people of all religions and paths can use for their individual spiritual unfoldment. Most of this book has been inspiring and helpful to me, especially the one-liners about aging such as:
Aging represents failure in our society, so each of us looks ahead and sees inevitable failure.
and
We reap in age what we have sown, in our values, all along the way.
I recommend this book and another book by Ram Dass' called Still Here, very much.
