A fascinating look at ghosts and hauntings in Ohio, this is one book not to be missed. In fact, I found I had read it twice before I reviewed it simply because of the interest it generated within me as a reader! This book will grab your interest and hold it, and thanks to the concise and clear writing talents of John B. Kachuba, this is one book about ghosts you will savor re-reading many times over.

In addition there is a travel guide to ghosthunting, a section on visiting haunted places, and a ghostly resources entry. A brisk and entertaining introduction sets the pace to this well-crafted book. Ohio is covered by sections.

With over thirty ghostly sites to read about, there is something for everybody in this book. Among the numerous interesting entries, check out Fort Meigs, Main Street Cafe, The Lofts Hotel, Taffy's Main Street Coffee, Woodland Cemetery, The Castle, and the Inn at Cedar Falls. An enjoyable afterword concludes this fine ghosthunting book.

If you like reading about ghosthunting and stories of hauntings as much as I do, then this book will give you many repeated hours of reading enjoyment. I highly recommend this book to anybody seriously interested in the lore of ghosts. Excellent reading!

Summary: The best book on Ohio Haunts in quite awhile!
Review: First of all, I don't make any claims to being a professional critic, but I know what I like and what I don't! John's book simply put, is one of the best books on Ohio Ghosts that I have read and believe me......I read a lot! Other books seem to just tell your basic ghost story and that's it. John interviews many people at the "scene of the haunt" and adds facts- not simply fiction- to his tales. "Ghosthunting Ohio" is a must for any haunted history fan of the Buckeye state. His sense of humor and storytelling shines through in many chapters and it's interwoven skillfully with just enough spookiness to keep you intrigued.

I would love to be a stowaway on his next adventure in the "Haunted Heartland Series"! Looking forward to more thrills in print!

Summary: TERRIFIC Ohio Ghost Hunting Book!
Review: I'll be honest and admit that I wasn't expecting much...it seems like all of the Ohio haunting/ghost books I've read have all pretty much been the same. Same places, same stories, etc. So I was pleasantly surprised when I started reading "Ghosthunting Ohio". John Kachuba takes a completely different approach than the other authors - he doesn't claim to be an "expert" that knows everything there is to know about the paranormal, instead he approaches the subject scientifically, more like a skeptic. He is a great story teller...when reading his exploration/ghost hunting stories I feel like I'm there with him! I can totally relate to his stories - much of the thoughts and impressions he
has on the ghost hunts are very similar to the ones my friends and I have. It makes the stories seem more realistic. He also adds a little humor to the stories every now and then, and that definitely keeps the stories interesting!

I was also happy to see that many of the haunted places in his book are ones that I haven't read about in the other Ohio haunting books. The travel guide at the back of the book is also extremely helpful.

The only "bad" thing I can say about the book is that it's going to end up costing me a lot of gas money....now I have even more places to add to my list of places to explore! But that's really not a bad thing, is it?!

I'd recommend this book to anyone interesting in ghosthunting!
