Summary: the value of this text...
Review: I think that the value in this book lies in the deviation of thought from anything mainstream. Even though you might not agree with everything or anything in this book, Osho guides you through a world of thought that many of us had not even heard of. It frees you from a way of thinking that we are used to every single day. A good book to pick up and gain perspective when the problems pile up one after another. You will gain a new way of looking at freedom and a new way to define freedom. And althought I doubt that I, or most other people that will pick up this book, will alter their lives significantly, there are many words of wisdon to pick up. Afterall, all that we need sometimes is a breath of fresh air.

Summary: A Rebel with a Cause.
Review: Only Man can rebel. Dogs don't do it. Monkeys don't do it. "Animal Farm" is a metaphor, not a reality. Though in the latter case the Pigs led a revolution, not a rebellion. The difference being that revolutionists become what they are revolting against while rebels become something new. Stalin was a Revolutionist that became more terrible than any Czar he overthrew, he became the Czar of Czars. Jesus was a Rebel that transcended religion and politics and so became a King of Kings, a free soul.

Osho was a world-class Rebel. A human being with the courage to be himself in the grand tradition of Buddha, Jesus, Diogenes, Galileo, Hildegard of Bingen, and all those other great souls that have or are transcending their time and place. Each of them Rebels with a cause. In this book Osho points out the many different ways we are enslaved. This is a sermon the likes of which you probably have never heard before. Hang in there, have courage, Osho is trying to create a new type of human being out of you and me. A free human being, free to be oneself. Osho is a master of freedom, he knows what he is talking about. His is a balanced perspective that tempers freedom with responsibility, Osho is not preaching licentiousness. He helps us to identify the obstacles to our freedom, and then shows us ways to overcome those obstacles. Osho is a gifted and encouraging teacher that speaks with the authority of one that knows that he knows that he knows. From "freedom from", to "freedom for", to just plain "freedom", Osho is the man.

FYI: Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, Osho, led a controversial life. You can focus on the melodrama surrounding him during his time in Oregon, or you can listen to what he has to say here in his "Insights for a New Way of Living" series of books. Frankly, I don't mind knowing that someone is not perfect. That they have had their trials and tribulations much as anyone else has. Life is hard at times even for the most enlightened among us. Listen to what Osho has to say, then listen to your own heart, meditate. Meditation is the key that unlocks the door to the spiritual life. The still voice of conscience is best heard while alone in silent awareness. Once heard, you will never be the same again. If you want to change, to grow, to mature as a human being, meditation is the best way to begin. Trust yourself, your true or higher self, the self behind the mask of nurture and culture. Meditate and awareness will come. That art thou.

Review: Simply put, you will find some of the most profound wisdom that exists in the world today. It is no suprise this author was called "The most dangerous man since Jesus Christ".
