Summary: Interesting
Review: I applaud this work for two reasons. One is that Al-Khu'i explores a topic which casts fear in most scholars trained in fiqh, namely the traditions which attribute missing verses and surahs to the Uthmani codex. The second reason this title is valuable is because it explores issues which pit the shi and sunni communities against each other in the area of exegesis. Al Khu'i also acknowledges the need to explore new approaches to the role the Qur'an plays in the polity of Islam as a religion due to the political polemics which have outlived their purpose, and due to new approaches to the nature of the Qur'an itself. While he fails to present a convincing argument for his conviction that the Qur'an somehow constitutes a divine attribute, I found this articulation to be fresh and intriguing. While I consider the doctrine of the "uncreated Qur'an" to be non-sensical, I still appreciate that those who maintain this belief to argue their point instead of expecting or assuming that it is a unanimously agreed upon position.

Summary: Excellent, Definetely the best translated so far!!!!
Review: This Book traces the many different theories on the Quran including the different opinions of Islamic scholars throughout the centuries while at the same time giving his own theory on the authenticity of the Quran. Although it is a extremely advanced level of study which most people would need at least some background on Islamic history and terminology it is by far one of the best books written on the historical authenticity of the Quran. It gives an inumerable amount of information and it is definetly for the schlar and not the layman.
