Rating: Summary: Devotions for real people Review: Stroup has done in this book of devotions what very few writers of daily devotions manage--she connects with real people. If you are looking for fluff and merely feel-good, you will not like this book. While it is not heavy reading, it does acknowledge reality--our spirituality, like our Savior, is flesh-wrapped. If you have struggled to connect spiritually and have sometimes felt that your spirituality was inferior to that of others, buy and read this book. Stroup writes from the real world in which we live out our lives. My wife and I gave copies of the book to both our mothers for Christmas. My mother, two days later, ordered seven copies for friends. My wife's mother, talked a local bookstore into ordering copies and then bought them for friends. Despite its title, this book is not just for women. Men will find benefit from reading it. The book is a worthy read.
Rating: Summary: Delightful book for both women and men Review: This is a devotional book that truly does help you to see God in the midst of every day life. It is light reading that brings about deep thought. The stories resonate with anyone who experiences the ups and downs of just living and, of course, that is each one of us. I used a couple of the stories for devotions with a group of seminary student group with much success. It would also make a great gift for a Christian friend. I highly recommend this book.
